Great band, sad to hear the last original member is gone. Hard to believe.
Rest well, sir.

Last of the originals. Funny, there are still 2 Beatles plugging away, but the original Ramones (who came later) are gone.
Great band, most especially when Tommy was producing them.

I bought "The Ramones" when it first came out on vinyl. "Creem Magazine" was the only way I could hear about the NY bands and the punk movement. Ramones, New York Dolls, Richard Hell... Great time for music. I remember some Creem article about the Ramones super secret new recording process. I was sold. Their first three albums were all-time classics. First live album was too. Tommy was part of those. So I guess I'd say that the band went downhill after he left. RIP Tommy.

What was the super secret recording process??!
So it's Tommy & Johnny due to cancer, Joey to lymphoma, and Dee Dee overdose. Reminds us just how tenuously we hold onto this life.

There was no super secret recording process. The album was made for around 6K.That was to draw interest. Failed miserably at the time.

Well it sounds like it was recorded in a single take, in a phone booth.
