I think six episodes is probably a safe bet at this point. I assume Turkey Day will revolve around the Kickstarter and donations will increase then. I really hope we get to twelve. I know some people are still holding out for the official unveiling of the Mad and the bot voices.

^That gif it TOO perfect.
It's official. Mystery Science Theater is coming back. I'm numbed with overwhelming emotion right now, so I need a minute to comprehend this.
But I think it's safe to say my reaction is YES!

I'm numbed with overwhelming emotion right now, so I need a minute to comprehend this. Yeah I gotta say I may be in a bit of shock right now. The crowdfunding thing kinda jumped me, though based on the other thread it was known there were rumblings of stuff happening. Less than a week later we're getting three new episodes. Unreal. What a week.

I don't know if I trust this Joel Hodgson person, though. Seems kinda shifty...two million dollars is a lot of money! He could be using it to fund his meth habit.
But seriously, this is the best news I've heard since the invention of stuffed-crust pizza! Or Mint Oreos! I'm going to KickStarter now. Do they accept Olive Garden gift cards?

It seems so weird that after all this time, one short week of fundraising and now we are guaranteed there will be new MST3K.

Done! My first ever KickStarter donation. I Like Coffee. With a little rum and some Bailey's, of course. So I'm going to get a coffee mug and apparently some wallpaper, too. I was going to re-paint my room but I guess I'll wait awhile.
And Felicia Day!?! Yay! The Guild is one of my all-time favorite shows. Can't wait to see her as a Mad!

I sure hope her involvement brings out the World of Warcraft fans and other online gamers to push the Kickstarter over the top, since they're endless. Plus she's just...cute redhead is cute...

Day 7: Boy what a terrible day. Barely made any money at all. This project is doomed. Let's face it, MST is dead and will never come back. BOOM! It's official baby! Mystery Science Theater 3000 is back! What a glorious day! Things were starting to look a lot like yesterday this morning, as we started to work our way to another $60,000 day, but then Joel came to the rescue. With his announcement of a new host, challenge for the backers to reach the first goal by the end of the day, and bringing new prizes into the game, today became an epic win. We made over $250,000, a wonderful 317% increase from yesterday! We passed our first goal and currently sit at $2.07 million, which means we can now turn our heads toward the next goal. How did today affect the per day averages for the next three goals? Let's do a quick check: Three episode: $0 (w00t) Six episodes: $52,000 Nine episodes: $98,000 Twelve episodes: $143,000 With the way we bottomed out this week, six episodes is looking pretty likely. Nine seems to be in a great position as well, even if it might come down to the endgame spike. Twelve might depend on if Joel has anything else up his sleeve, and/or whether or not a Felicia Day announcement brings in some outside fans. But let's not think about what it takes to get MORE episodes, let's just enjoy that we're getting any at all! Tomorrow might drop a deal, so brace yourselves. Whether it will be a half-life down to around $125,000 or just a plunge back into $60,000 territory, I have no clue, but let's not be too disappointed with the result. We won today. That means everything.

Well said, Torgo. We're getting more episodes comin' down the chute, and that's a huge shift from everything else we've had since, well... pretty much since the premiere of Diabolik. Rifftrax and Cinematic Titanic are great continuations of the tradition, but it'll be nice to get back to the source.

If Felicia Day is cast as a mad, that would be very cool! From what I've seen of her work, she'd be perfect. Incidentally, I haven't posted here in a billion years. Howdy, y'all! Me too. Hi y'all!

I posted this on Reddit, so I'll put it here, too.
Earlier, I asked Joel a hypothetical question:
If the campaign were to end with some amount between one of the episode tiers, if it were enough to cover the cost of 1 episode, as calculated by the provided graphs, would that extra episode or two be made, even if the next tier wasn't reached?
Joel's answer was: Hypothetically, yes.
So, that means that we should think of all further funding in episode increments. (Because its 1.3 million until the 6 episode tier, not 1.1, I'm assuming the amount needed for the first 3 was lowered by $200,000 so the first goal could be easily reached, so any further episode can't be funded until we reach $2.2 million)
Episode 4 - ~$2.567 million Episode 5 - ~$2.933 million Episode 6 - ~$3.3 million Episode 7 - ~$3.666 million Episode 8 - ~$4.033 million Episode 9 - ~$4.4 million Episode 10 - ~$4.766 million Episode 11 - $5.133 million Episode 12 - $5.5 million
