Somehow I doubt backers would get digital copies before it is shown on Netflix. Why would Joel and team risk having someone pirate the show before it's public premiere? If anything, they would get them on the same day, but not before. Honestly, if a backer is waiting for their digital copy to see the show, they should just take the trial with Netflix. It's cheap, and you can cancel after you receive your digital copies (if they aren't also doled out the same day, if they are, then everyone wins). I just anticipate some Netflix-boycotter who starts ranting because they "can't see the show they paid for".....

Don't get me wrong, there are some really great people in the group. But the way Facebook displays the posts on your wall, it is either too many at once or a ton of the ones I previously mentioned (admins reiterating rules or self satisfied user posts). Good to know Kickstarter promises come before Netflix. The whole "Netflix Original" branding was what got me concerned, seeing as it is more of a "Kickstarter Original". Is Netflix actually fronting any production money? "Netflix Original" is just a brand for any show that is available primarily through their service. TV shows are branded like this all the time: An AMC Original, An FX Original, A SyFy Original. It doesn't matter if they put money into the production or not, as long as it airs through them.

While we're waiting, the Netflix listing for MST3K has a new synopsis: The synopsis on the mouse-over also says: So Gypsy is confirmed I guess, unless she's being replaced by a new bot?

They already showed off a new bot in the updates. Could be him.
Likely it's Gypsy and they're leaving the rest as recurring.

Gypsy is absolutely confirmed and she has had an extension to her cable so she can come into the theater. I assume we all know there's a new little bot as well.
The first ep is going to be shown at special invitation-only movie screenings in three major US cities in mid-February. People whose pledge included attendance at the premiere are obviously invited.
But as Joel has been clear about, the actual drop on Netflix has not yet been announced and they don't know when it's going to be. They are still doing post-production but even after they are done, other matters might keep the drop from happening for a bit.

Quite the admonishment from Joel in this last update. I fully understand his frustration from the breech of trust from the backers (one or multiple?), but I'm not surprised at all given the over-sharing culture of the internet. Asking someone on the internet not to do something is like asking a dog not to chew the furniture.

IIRC, she popped in one other time when Richard Basehart was mentioned?

IIRC, she popped in one other time when Richard Basehart was mentioned? That was from Wild Rebels. Gypsy also made a theater appearance in Untamed Youth.

Wish in one hand, you know what in the other...there's just no way everything would be kept under backer lock-and-key. That's today's culture (not just internet) for you.

You'll notice when I referred to it I just mentioned it would be in three large cities in mid-February. It wasn't hard. I don't know why it is so for some people. "Must ... blab ...."
