Good to hear, MJ.
Plus I thought you might enjoy the little Dr. Horrible reunion in the middle too.

That was sweet. Those two need to star in many musicals together.

Now for the record I think episode two is one worth backtracking to, because I thought the riffing was strong in that one (crappy host segments though). But if one was turned off by Reptilicus I wasn't entirely sure if it was the new cast/format that was turning someone off or just the episode in general, so my gut response was to hit you with the big gun that was Avalanche, because I laughed so hard I cried during this one. And if someone didn't like it, then all I can say is that the new show isn't for them.
Just know that this may well be the best this season has to offer so it might be a downhill slide from here. I'm going to start episode seven tonight and maybe eight.

This is definitely one of those episodes buoyed by the movie being quite watchable in spite of its dumbness. Rock Hudson, Mia Farrow and Robert Forster has got to be one of the more star-studded casts of an MST experiment.

I was kinda waiting for a "Rock Hudson...he's good in anything!" riff in this one. :-) Although I would agree this one is more watchable than Space Travelers, which is dreadfully dull. (Despite what Dennis Miller might think, cha-cha.)

I really enjoyed this one! I wasn't a huge fan of Joel's inventions, but I could appreciate them for what they were, and Jonah's bit with the vaccuum cleaner was cute. The song by Kinga and NPH was maybe a tad long, but it still worked, especially Patton's bits. The riffing was very strong too, almost equal to any of the best episodes of the classic era!
However, while I have no problem with Baron Vaughn as Servo in the host segments, I find his delivery in the theater to be very obnoxious. He's rushing the jokes out and affecting a different voice every other line. I wish he would bring it down a little bit, it's dizzying.
So it's not I HATE TOM SERVO'S NEW VOICE but I'M ANNOYED BY TOM SERVO'S DELIVERY.

LOL This one is amazing! Love all the 70s riffs, and the "Dear Trip Advisor" riffs at the end nearly had me in tears I was laughing so hard.

I think of the 6 episodes I've seen so far, this gave me the most laughs and is ranked #1 in my books.

Trying to take my time with 1 or 2 a week now, but we'll see how that goes. What a great episode. Needed a fix of good ol 70's cheeze, and this did not disappoint. Overall I am really enjoying the fresh and new, yet also old and comfortable feel of the show. To me it just feels right.

Interesting to see so many big stars in a MST3K episode, fortunately the movie is still pretty terrible. Robert Forster is one of my favorite actors, who has made many, many bad movies. I was wondering how an avalanche (which is over in moments) would make a good disaster movie; as others pointed out the post-avalanche car crashes make no sense but are classic MST3K fodder.
The long song sequence was not my thing, for fans of Dr. Horrible maybe it was cool?
Going to take a break before I binge any more, getting used to the new cast and feel but maybe a little burned out? It's different... a lot less relaxed/hang-out vibe than the original series, but still very funny.

Decided to try this one again. This was ranked highest for me, yet it probably isn't even in my top 15 MST episodes ever. It has a weird but otherwise not that bad movie, and some great riffing for it. I've never seen Avalanche beforehand, in a way it reminds me of Earthquake. These disaster movies always seem to try to build up some plot before the disaster strikes, yet there never feels like there's any solid resolution by the end. The characters are corny and hard to care about, so any suspense doesn't work for me. It's not my favorite movie featured in this season, but it's the riffing that makes it so enjoyable. There are several great riff moments here, I found myself laughing at many of the same jokes. I think my favorite moment is when the firetrucks are rolling out yet there's all of this pointless additional carnage happening. I thought the moment with the drones was kind of amusing too, when I first saw the episode I had no idea what Crow and Tom were going to do. The host segments were alright, I thought the skit about Monster/Disaster hybrid titles was brilliant. And sadly I would have watched every one of those movies. I've never seen Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog. I can only assume that the third host segment was aimed at that, because it felt really out of place. It just seems unusual for a guest to come along and break into this dramatic song with a character on the show. But I can't really complain, since it was Neil Patrick Harris and the song was kind of funny but it's not something I'd want to listen to by itself.
8/10. So far this season has been very re-watchable.

I think I'm having more trouble digesting the movies than I used to. A lot of these new eps are "okay" but the movies themselves leave me so cold that I don't quite get up to MST3K speed like I used to. Perhaps with a second viewing, when I can appreciate the riffs more. Right now I keep gagging on the movies.

First of all, let me just say Felicia has a very beautiful singing voice! *thumbs up* I definitely enjoyed the song in this episode.
The riffing was great in this one! Best jokes for me were Ned Flanders' "Feels like I'm wearing nothing at all!", the Rick and Morty joke, Ren and Stimpy's "log", the Fraggle Rock joke and the baker reference to Sesame Street's number counting series from the first season.
The host segments in my opinion were better than the last episode. I really enjoyed Gypsy's performance at the end!

This was a riot! You can't go wrong with a star studded 70's disaster flick. The first one since the KTMA era, IIRC. It would be sweet if they could revisit City On Fire, or SST Death Flight next season. The random riffs invoking The Shining and Dune got me right between the eyes. Not to mention the Tonya Harding/Nancy Kerrigan ice skating scandal of the '90's. Rather surprising they didn't comment on this movie being a Roger Corman production. And kudos for showing some remarkable restraint on the obvious Rock Hudson sexuality jokes, and only making one Woody Allen riff. It must have been very tempting to go overboard on those. The nudity censoring drones gag was inspired. Gypsy's "body" looked like someone used her to hang themselves, and may haunt my dreams for a while.
