That dot cameo was cute.

it looked much cleaner too. Notice how Mary Jo's wig hair didn't look all smooth and not choppy.

Still wondering what lucky MST3K fan wound up with the Cartuner.

I love the new graphic bumpers. Retro and clean. The sponsor stuff is cute.

For some reason, it took me this long to realize the meta joke of Frank apologizing for the movie.

I loved the short and the wrap around segments.

A good short *and* good host segments?! If this was a real new episode we would have hit paydirt!

-they are aware of the audio issues and still working it out -viewer mail is returning to MST3K, guess this will be for the live events?
I wish they would have done the live commentary like they with the livestreams last year, that would have been worth staying tuned for instead of just a rerun.

I think by adding in the new host segments into the old episode and the community engagement is enough... but I agree that it doesn't compare to something like seeing Joel watch Hobgoblins for the first time.

Honestly I am gonna give the whole evening a B+ overall. The whole evening flowed so much better than the previous live event.. no serious sound issues with the short that I heard and I like that they are keeping it all within the concept and making wrap around segments.
The ads were well placed and the intermission length was much better this time.
Only gripe is that a lot of jonah's segments ran a bit too long. They should really keep them short and sweet unless they got something killer.. felt like they were just killing time a bit.
edit: manos is no where near the top of my list of fav episodes and I don't rewatch it much. But really enjoyed the evening anyway.

I thought it was fine, not stellar, not a laugh riot, but fine. It flowed better, though the Jonah host segs ran overlong and weren't really all that funny. The short's riffing was alright, with a few guffaws here and there.
But you know that riff about not putting a good movie in with your bad movie... that's how I felt once Manos started, and I thought, "Now this, is MST". The Nu-mst short just came up a little short by comparison laugh-wise, the chemistry in the theater, just not as special.
I dunno, so far, it's all fine, it's all okay, but it's not all that great.

Couple of things Joel mentioned during Q&A:
-Back in the CC days it would cost 35K to make an episode (70k in today's dollars) and its still rather cheap today. Probably doesn't include the cost of the movie rights btw -They are aspiring to have their own studio and office again but its taking a long time.
