Great Band of the 70's and 80's. I love Showdown and 4 Little Diamonds.

Hell yes!!! I was just riding around listening to Showdown about an hour ago. Nothing like the Bose Monsoon system in the 'Bird, with the windows down, blaring ELO. I also blared Turn to Stone.
Great stuff, Jeff Lynne is a genius,

I wouldn't say that they are one of my absolute fav bands but they're all right. "Don't Bring Me Down" is my favorite song from them.

Jeff Lynne ruins everything he touches. He's the Phil Specter of his time. A master of overproducing.

Of course, I am trying to convince a super Dylan fan. The master of taking simple, good songwriting and screwing it up. Just because some horns and good mixing were used, it doesn't make ELO crap. Of course, you don't like Yes or Rush either. Why am I surprised? Servo

"Sweet Talkin' Woman" is one of the best pop songs ever written.
An overlooked gem from the 80s is ELO's "Calling America". Great song.

They're ok, but their not my favorite fruit.
What?
ELO stands for Everyone Loves Oranges, right?
Why is everybody looking at me!!!!

Good to disagree with you on something again. It gives reality a sense of meaning again. Servo

Jeff Lynne and Roy Wood were at the forefront of the Brum Beat in the 60's.
They used to practice a couple of miles down the road from here, in the shadow of the HP Sauce factory.
Bev Bevan still has a show each weekend on the local Capital Gold station.
Some of the other Birmingham bands who made it big :
Black Sabbath The Move Wizard The Moody Blues Duran Duran Slade The Spencer Davis Group
and loads more.
