Since they just announced Volume 5 and we have that to look forward to, I wonder what everyone’s thoughts are about which titles are likely to be included in VOLUME 6 box?
I have a couple of hopeful’s…
GUNSLINGER THE AMAZING COLOSSAL MAN
Those are the only two VHS titles that aren’t on dvd yet from Rhino. I have heard many times though that THE AMAZING COLOSSAL MAN is no longer available to Rhino due to rights issues -- etc.
I read at Chris “Sampo” Cornell’s site that Rhino asked him what titles the fans would most like to see and he also said that they did intend to release more CC era episodes.
Man, I sure hope so… nothing against the last box and the forthcoming box, but I really would love some more ep’s from season’s 4 & 7. Season 4 is woefully under-represented in the releases thus far and Season 7 has nothing to show.
Back to my original topic, any guesses on what titles are likely to be included in the VOLUME 6 box? Heck, for that matter, what four titles would you like to see most in VOLUME 6 box?
:: Lastly :: two more titles I would love to see but are likely not going to show up ever from Rhino --
SANTA CLAUS CONQUERS THE MARTIANS MONSTER A GO-GO

Is "The Brain That Wouldn't Die" on DVD yet? If not, that'll probably be next.

You can go to their web site and see which ones. I know Attack of the Leeches is one. And Teenagers From Outer Space. Ring of Terror and a few others... My Crystal Gayle Ball tells me so...

Magic Sword I belive has been released by Rhino unmisted. I Don't know if it's public domain title.
That with the above mentioned Leeches, Teenagers & Ring O' Terror would make for a nice set.

I have a feeling Giant Gila Monster will be released sometime in the future.

What's about Shorts Vol. 3? That's the only other title that has been previously released on VHS, but has yet to come out on DVD.
If Rhino is still releasing Sci-Fi era ep's, then I would love to see these for Vol. 6:
Hobgoblins Devil Fish The Final Sacrifice Future War
No older movies, but I think all of those are classics and can be easily acquired, I think.

I'd love to see both the Santa Claus movies on DVD, as well as Last Of The Wild Horses and 12 To The Moon.

I took this idea and decided to go to the Rhino website and find every title that Rhino has out unmsted.
I went through all 10 seasons and checked every title -- yes, I have too much time on my hands today.
Here's what I found:
108 - The Slime People 206 - Ring of Terror 402 - The Giant Gila Monster 404 - Teenagers From Outer Space 406 - Attack of the Giant Leeches 411 - The Magic Sword 423 - Bride of the Monster
That's it, the best of my knowledge.
Memo to Rhino -- I beg of you, please get these out in a future MST3K collection.

There are a handful of episodes that Sci-Fi could still show in the last year or so. In recent box sets, Rhino has released those, along with one that hasn't been on TV recently.
For example, on Volume 4, the first three episodes were all on Sci-Fi within the last year. I had seen and taped them all. Space Mutiny was included in the box set, I suspect, because it was an episode that people hadn't seen on TV recently and were less likely to have taped.
So fans who hadn't been copying episodes for years would buy the box set to get that one "new" episode. At least that is the primary reason I purchased it. I also wanted to support Rhino and get Rhino-quality copies of the other ones.
The same goes for the upcoming box set Volume 5. As far as I can tell, only Time Chasers has been unavailable on Sci-Fi or through Best Brains in the last year.
So, I suspect that on Volume 6, we'll see three episodes that have been on Sci-Fi (or available on Rhino VHS) within the last year and one episode that hasn't.
On Volume 6 I hope to see:
1. Squirm 2. Final Justice 3. The Final Sacrifice 4. Diabolik
Some longer special features would be nice, too.

That's all well and good, but I still think Rhino should try and concentrate on the 7 seasons from Comedy Channel and Comedy Central.
At least one more set of 4 titles from that era would be pleasing to me...

I hope Rhino is considering releasing a Season 7 set, since there are so few episodes in that Season. I haven't seen much from Seasons 5 & 6. So practically anything from those two seasons would make me happy.

If we go by the Rhino MST3K DVD poll, we might be able to expect some of these titles. This is just the top six not yet available
321: Santa Claus Conquers the Martians 101: The Crawling Eye 706: Laserblast 1013: Danger: Diabolik 212: Godzilla vs. Megalon 302: Gamera

I would love to hear someone like SAMPO give us his two cents on what titles are likely to ever see the light of day from Rhino?
I'm speaking of course of the CC era...
There are so few that seem to be even an option to them... I wonder what films are likely future releases?
