I just took that as a riff on a drink order. "I'll have a vodka on ice with a filbert nut." But it may well be a specific reference. Then there's the old joke of the doctor who always came into the bar and ordered a daiquiri garnished with a walnut. But the punch line doesn't involve a filbert (hazel nut), but a hickory nut. Now you've got me wondering.

But it just sounds like he's verging on Ed Wynn or someone...ya' know ? an early TV bit or such. or simply one of Joel's brilliantly wavering line-readings.

Actually, this one is about a missing riff (or one that never occurred). I've always wondered why, during 803: THE MOLE PEOPLE that the 'Bots _never_ mention Jerry and Sylvia. Of course Mike never knew them, but Tom & Crow should've said something. I just put it down to the Sci-Fi Channel not wanting them to reference anything from the Comedy Central shows (something BBI later loosened up on). But it would've been perfect to at least shout out a "Jerry! Sylvia! Noooooooo!" or sump'in.

Okay, so I just saw the children's television segment of Parts: The Clonus Horror, and Mike's little "there is nothing you posess I cannot take away" bit, alongside something about the Hevidos or whatever - while slightly creepy - is making me wonder if it's from anything in particular...

Raiders of the Lost Ark:Belloq: Dr. Jones. Again, we see there is nothing you can possess which I cannot take away. And you thought I'd given up. You chose the wrong friends - this time it will cost you. Jones: [Reluctantly handing the idol to Belloq] Too bad the Hovitos... don't know you the way I do, Belloq. Belloq: Yes, too bad. You could warn them... if only you spoke Hovitos.

In the Amazing Colossal Episode Guide, the Brains talk about how that quote, "There is nothing you can possess...", is the perfect line to use in almost any social situation. It seems to be one of their favorites.

Thanks, Change. It just seemed a little too "out there" to be anything that the Brains came up with themselves... either that or the segment went on a little too long without them making a reference to something. In the Amazing Colossal Episode Guide, the Brains talk about how that quote, "There is nothing you can possess...", is the perfect line to use in almost any social situation. It seems to be one of their favorites. That's cool. It's quickly becoming one of my favorite bits (note the new signature pic), even though I saw it in a clip reel (well, at least the "Rompelo!" part - it was in Top 10 Mike-era "WTF?" moments), and then just went to see the full segment for context. I really need to get that book...

This is something that has bugged me for awhile now. I've been on a Red Zone Cuba kick for a long time, and in the scene when Chastain (Justine) is talking about his parents Sugar Cane Mill or whatever it is, he says, "I guess I've always been a dreamer." To which Tom replies with, "Montreal." I laugh at it every time, and I don't know what the hell he's referencing or anything. But there alot of those kind of riffs....for me anyway.

It's a reference to the song "I'm a Dreamer, Aren't We All?" which Groucho Marx jokingly called "I'm a Dreamer, Montreal" The phrase has since entered the popular lexicon.

Hey, all, just found the site and thought I'd ask about something that's been bugging me.
In Wild, Wild World of Batwoman (I THINK), when this weird harp-like sound plays before the "happy drink" kicks in, Servo/Mike says something like "Dreezle, drazzle, drizzle, drone. Time for zis one to go home." I know I've heard that before, but I can't remember where.

In The Deadly Bees the pop singer is trapped in a room with bees. At one point someone riffed "Aeon Flux", I think.
Now I never heard of Aeon Flux until the movie came out. I watched it on Showtime (decent enough) but even now I don't get the connection. I take it this was a comic book? Er, Graphic Novel?

It was a cartoon featured on MTV's "Liquid Television" series back in the mid 90's.
