I cant remeber what episode, but Crow says "My name José Jiménez." This is a reference to a character on the Steve Allen show. It was also used by Scott Glenn's character in THE RIGHT STUFF and George Costanza on SEINFELD.

"No-no-no-no-no-no, don't pass out on me now...!" Little help...? This is a line from the Clint Eastwood flick DIRTY HARRY. The bad guy says this when Harry (who he's torturing) starts to, well, pass out.

Here's something I've wondered about for a long while, but I was afraid to ask. I still am, but I've just got to know. The whole "Klack food" host segment in Rocketship X-M: is it really just all about poop and vomit? I mean, really? And, if so, why? Why did they write a whole host segment about poop as, well, food? Why, why, WHY?!

It's a spoof of the old "Kraft Holiday Festival" TV shows from way back when. During commercial breaks they'd chime in with recipe ideas featuring such Kraft delicacies as Cheeze Whiz and Velveeta. I guess the idea is that some of those old recipes didn't sound too appealing (balogna rolls stuffed with cheese spread?) so the 'bots took it to the next level.

I meant to say that, too. Yep, it's First Spaceship on Venus.

I was so grossed out by the Klack food segment that I become delirious and didn't know what I was typing. But, yeah, you're right. First Spaceship on Venus it is. It's a spoof of the old "Kraft Holiday Festival" TV shows from way back when. During commercial breaks they'd chime in with recipe ideas featuring such Kraft delicacies as Cheeze Whiz and Velveeta. I guess that makes a little more sense. But it still doesn't make the hurt go away.

I was so grossed out by the Klack food segment that I become delirious and didn't know what I was typing. That segment makes me sick also. But I am impressed with Servo's smooth commercial patter; it was good writing. They always did a good job with their commercial announcer parodies like that and the fashion show.

Well, This was a fine posting for the "Favorite Joel "Innocent Geek" Riff" thread, but , as I'm still learning all the various cubby-holes & corners of the Board here , I see this Esoteric thread would be the place to seek it's source.
In "Circus On Ice" : The announcer says "to interpret a moonlight concerto on ice" to which Joel adds > "with a philbert nut" His head-cold whimper is perfect , but maybe he's quoting acharacter from the 40's or sumthin' I don't get.
Anybody know ??
