Just to play devil's advocate, I can imagine "It Conquerered The World" getting as far as trial, especially if they didn't pay to use the music from the movie. I do think they'd probably prevail, but it's not as immediate a dismissal as "Eye Creatures".

It's still mind-boggling that someone would continue to waste time and money over and over again over insignificant clips of b-movies which haven't seen physical media releases since VHS. Meanwhile, these films have been uploaded for free on YouTube (and are readily available on DVD bootlegs) for quite some time and yet you don't see these being taken down.
My interest is only in the MST3k versions of these movies, but it's crazy to see ultra-obscure trash cinema getting crisp HD releases while these better-known b-movie "classics" are now stranded in the days of VHS. It's truly absurd.

Like I said, at this point, I really think we’ll just have to wait till Susan passes on, and she could live as long as Betty White for all we know.

FYI, tomorrow is the last day of the 4th continuance period in the Susan Hart v. Shout case. If they don't submit a final settlement (or some other motion other than a 5th continuance/extension) the case will be closed on the 16th and nothing will come of the case. Which wouldn't be optimal for either side that piled up attorney fees the last 2 years.
They didn't timely file a 5th motion to extend (which would've been due last Friday if they were going to file one), so unless an emergency motion to continue is filed, some sort of resolution is happening.
So unless the whole thing fell apart and the settlement was scrapped, we should get some idea of a conclusion shortly.
But you never know with Susan...

Like I said on Reddit, I see three possible interpretations, not necessarily mutually exclusive: - The Olive/Paramount films - a batch of the KTMA films (not complete, of course, unless they have streaming rights to the Gamera movies) - the Susan Hart films EDIT: I realized, I don't know enough about streaming and got excited by somebody else's speculations; are there specific episodes which they have never been able to stream aside from Godzilla vs Megalon and the unreleased 11 (and maybe the 7 other films where they lost the licenses)?

There seems to be an assumption here that these are never-before-released episodes being touted. But there are a number of episodes that Shout! was able to release on DVD that have never seen digital releases. The Universal episodes, for example.

I mean, the episodes they will show are most likely gonna be crap episodes that are already on DVD with no real surprises. However, it's fun to think about what they could do. I'm really hoping for a KTMA one of these days. Eventually, they're gonna have to crack. While releasing them on DVD might not be feasible due to potentially low sales, streaming would be a great home for them and the rights for some of the made for TV films would probably be pretty cheap to acquire.

I think emphasizing NEVER suggests to me that it's more than a case of just securing additional rights on an existing license. But that's why I asked the follow-up question; because I don't follow streaming, I don't know whether there are things (like the Universal episodes, maybe) which people who do stream would get excited about getting added to streaming. And we know that they have prepared bonus features for at least one further volume of episodes, so they've got some new licenses to exploit. But we'll find out soon enough.

Another question to ask is: If they are in fact premiering episodes that they have never released in a physical format (yet), why would they do it via streaming first? Why not announce the box set, then stream the episodes? Why stream the episodes at all? Would that cut into people buying a new box set?
My guess is it's just the Universal movies.

That's a fair point, but I don't think it's impossible that they would have gotten the rights and decided to grab attention while people are home-bound by showing them this way. From what I understand, the Shout MST3k stuff isn't streaming where you select what episode you watch, it's just a channel you flip over to and see what they are playing, so it wouldn't necessarily have a big impact on future sales. It could even be promotional, to remind people that "Colossal Man" is a pretty good episode, worth buying.
Don't get me wrong, hearing you guys say that the Universal thing could be a big enough deal that it would be worth this sort of announcement, it's probably that. But they've got at least one future volume to announce at some point, why not now?

But DO they have a future volume to announce...??
All I've seen so far (and believe me, I hope I'm wrong) is our speculation based on either the fact that Olive/Paramount MAY soon be available, or Susan Hart MAY settle her lawsuit, or someone heard, that someone inferred Minneapolis episodes MAY exist...
Is there a smoking gun announcement that Volume IX will be released soon...??
It's been about a year-and-a-half since an original run volume was released, right...??

And yes, there have been two separate references to bonus features being produced for a "30th Anniversary set". You'll have to scroll back to find it, it was at least a year ago, but why would they spend money producing bonus features that they never intend to release? XXXIX was released 11/27/17, so it's actually 2 1/2 years.

Keep in mind that a lot of companies are releasing material for free or early to cope with the quarantine. Shout could just be jumping on the goodwill bandwagon.
