I tend to laugh more if there is a friend watching it with me, and if I know the friend is a fan that makes the experience even more enjoyable.
I once fell asleep while watching the "Hamlet" episode and had a crazy dream that I was working with the characters in a green house and teaching them Spanish.
I'll never do that again, but I like the "Hamlet" episode, I try to enjoy all the episodes.
Sometimes I will dislike an ep after one viewing, but when I force myself to watch it again I find more and more stuff to like.

That seems to be common with MST3K. You have to give every ep more than one chance. If you're not in the right mood or frame of mind, even the best eps may not be enjoyable the first time through because you'll be focused on the wrong thing or not focused at all. I don't know if I'll like Hamlet on my second viewing, but certain episodes like Red Zone Cuba and The Undead improved dramatically.
