I just went and looked and Shout actually has Season 13 on DVD/Bluray.

I like everything about Space: 1999 except the writing. Even for the par of television sci-fi, their plots are pretty non-sensical.

It could simply mean she's retiring from her work in front of the camera Yeah, that make sense. Like, even if there were new seasons, she's decided she's retired Pearl.

No one has any other comments? Okay, I'll throw two out -- her selling this means
1) She doesn't think she'll need it again
2) No one is around to ask for it back
Oh, and a side third -- her actually having it instead of it being in a prop/wardrobe department somewhere is another example of Joel not knowing how to manage anything. At least in this case it worked out, at least in MJs favor.

Do any of your categories include other riffers? Have you ever tried ICWXP or QuipTrax? Both are worthwhile riff products.

I would argue it should be given in full to Jonah so it can be his baby. Is Joel actually willing to part with it? And is anybody willing to really take it over? We don't really know if it's up to just Joel. Shout! may own anywhere from 50%-100% of it.

The whole multiple-hosts concept is dead in the water as far as I'm concerned, and Joel would be absolutely foolish to try it again. So who takes the helm in the event of another reboot? Jonah? Emily? Joel? I said all the way back during the S13 KS when Emily was first announced that the plan was to phase out Jonah, Patton, and the other higher paid mainstream talent and replace it with his live show cast. Sprinkle in a little conspiracy theory for how no returning cast was mentioned during the S14 funder (strike-shmike), and I think the plan already was to announce (AFTER fundraising was complete) that S14 would be all Emily and gang, with maybe just a cameo from Jonah and/or others, if available, to do some kind of final in-story hand-off.

Cripes. Talk about being in a bad place. Honestly what I wrote doesn't quite match how bad of a place he articulated that he was in on this podcast. ... I love Jonah and want him to be happy. This is too bad. I always thought he seemed like a genuinely nice guy. Hope it works out for him.

trying to get rid of it at a loss I seriously doubt $75 is a loss. I bet those things even in a fancy box cost no more than $25 to make, maybe even like $15 or $20. That's why I laughed at the price. It now makes sense that it was the kickstarter 'pledge price'

Interesting.
PSA: in case you did't read any forum posts about them, I wouldn't reccommend getting them. It sounds like they tried to do something 'interesting' with the moon dust instead of just regular sparkle snow, and for many people it just looked like cloudy mud water.
BTW, if you think 6.99 is astronomical then don't kickstart anything. I swear nothing is less than $10 when it finally comes time to send you your thing.
...edit... $175.00 retail.... HA Ha ha

'i've done 3 seasons and feel like I did it and am ok if there isn't any more'. Said nothing about plans to relaunch. Sounds a lot like Joel's 'I'm creatively satisfied' take during the kickstarter. Unconspiracy theory -- we take them at their word. They all did it, did it enough in their minds, and are done with it. Slightly more conspiracy -- I wonder if Season 13 was a lot of No Fun to make for many of the people involved. The whole covid thing. The whole too many cooks thing still going on between writers and multiple casts. The idea of multiple casts. The live streaming and closed releases. I wonder if the whole idea of New MST3K just got soured for a lot of people involved. I know it got soured for a lot of fans. I will say, I think the whole actor's strike is a big red herring. If Jonah, Patton, Felicia, whoever, was stoked for a season 14 they could have soo easily been tweeting and podcasting the day the strike ended which was well before the end of the campaign. I mean it's over now, and has been over for months. There is no reason why the people in question couldn't now be tweeting and podcasting about their excitement for a possible season 14 with "I can't wait to tell you about the stuff that's being worked on/talked about/being planned for next season" type communications.

I think the big thing to watch is the gizmoplex. I'm kind of waiting to see a post that says it's just gone down or just plain gone.
OTH, I have noticed they have their constant YouTube feed and that FAST live feed going all the time. That stuff might be giving them enough money to keep things afloat.

Today is March 25th, so it's been four months since the MST3K season 14 failed.
Any news from anywhere? I haven't heard any.

Stranded In Space was my first episode. Woah, a good one to start on. One of my favorites.
