If I remember correctly, it's a "Captain Morgan school of acting" type of film. HA, well put. I emailed Barbbb to suggest something like a mst3k.com-based single-disc release, and she basically said "stay tuned." I don't mean to sound like "the man," man... but yes, if the definitive word at the time of the set's release is "that's the only way to get Gila, baby" then there will be heck to pay. At the moment, no news is, well, frustrating news, but the lack thereof doesn't mean they hate us and want us to give them our milk money. It's times like these when I wish someone would develop a visual form of Rifftrax. Basically you'd lift the Shadowrama from all the existing episodes and put it on its own "layer" separate from the actual movie. You'd also get the host segments, but the actual content (on whatever medium you release it) would be just as protected as Rifftrax. Shadowrama Transparency? I think Joel would find a better name for it, and I think at least one other person on this board has proposed a similar idea. It might be complicated, but it would basically eliminate the need for these ridiculous rights fights.

As one of the oh-so naughty international fans, personally I'm hoping more for single disc than Shrews style replacement... ...course I'll likely buy the full set despite having the original release

Can someone fill me in on the Killer Shrews problem?

I'm gonna have to side with the people who say "either release Gila Monster as a single disc, or I ain't buying Volume 10 again"
Much as I like MST, I sure as heck am not dropping another 50 dollars to have two copies of the other three episodes.

I still need to get Volumes 3 and 6. I have fan copies of all the Volume 10 and 10.2 episodes. Not that I'd never get Volume 10X, but right now it's a low priority for me.
But as Rhino is apparently getting out of the TV shows on DVD business (except for MST3K) this would be a good time for them to step up and show they appreciate our patronage.

That seems like it would be a heck of a lot of work to design and implement for a long-cancelled TV series, not to mention that we'd still often have to get the MST-specific cuts of the films.

All of us who want to voice your opinions on how there should be a single disc of with the special feature and Gila Monster episode should call up Rhino's voicemail:
1-800-546-3670
Just don't be a jerk about your messages.

Can someone fill me in on the Killer Shrews problem? On Volume 7 there are some extra shorts, Assignment Venezuela which was never featured on the show, and the ones from the Sci-fi era. All were put on the Shrews disc instead of spreading them about and as such Rhino cut some of the episode, the opening voice-over of the film with riffs by the SOL crew. After an uproar Rhino promised to replace the discs with the uncut episode but it took ages for them to come out. I think mines was six months, and post wasn't to blame!

Take one for the team!

Deal well and truly sealed!

I feel most sorry for the people who handed over $100 or more on eBay for this. Granted, that's not Rhino's fault, but now they've spent $100 on Godzilla essentially. And they're now going to have to spend $40-50 for The Giant Gila Monster. I paid 30-40 for just the Godzilla versus Megalon DVD of the set and I got the other three DVDs plus the box for free. Conceptually speaking, at least. Too bad the Giant Gila Monster isn't worth as much to me. But here's the real point/problem/question thingy: Shouldn't this have been done before releasing additional sets? I rented GvM the day it came out and even I knew just by looking at the DVD that it wasn't licensed from Toho. Godzilla, Megalon, Gigan and even ol Jet Jagaur, copyright and TM of Toho. Lame, real lame.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think it had anything to do with the shorts. I bought the set after it had been corrected, and the shorts were still on the same disc. I think it was just a simple, inexplicable cock-up, on Rhino's part.

Well seeing how Joel, Trace, AND Josh are doing this little extra for Gila, could this mean maybe Vol 13 could have some season one episode(s) and have the guys doing some kind of intro/extra?
