Does this mean we could see a season seven set? ;D Only another MSTie would know why I got a chuckle out of this. Season 7, the Season Rhino denied existed.

Unexpected and exciting news. And I join the people who publicly wonder how they're going to deal with ~50 episodes already out by Rhino.

Maybe I have my facts wrong here but aren't the good folks over at RiffTrax "in bed" with Shout Factory? Could that be why Joel and Jim couldn't work out an MST revival deal?

I don't think Mike's enterprise has any effect upon what Joel and Jim do with MST3K. Any reason MST3K could not get a revival likely is simply over money matters between Mallon and Hodgson. Its always about money.

Nevermind season 7, I'm more impressed that the KTMA episodes seem to be included with the MST series. All of them. What could be more "20th Anniversary" than that?
Too bad it seems to me that many of these will be "download only" to simplify rights issues but it would still mean pristine A/V quality.

I highly doubt Mallon will let them release full KTMA episodes. Even though it would be great to get the first 3 episodes, and the rest in pristine quality... they don't stand up well at all compared to later seasons.

I don't know, the only reason he didn't want them shown, was they were worried about turning off new fans. It's not like they're gonna get a ton now, so why not?

I thought there were also legal ramifications? Weren't there questions over who actually owns the episodes, let alone whether the Brains actually even had the right to show the movies as they did in the first place?

Oh yeah, forgot about that. But I think there is a chance, that if the Sandy Frank eps get a release, we'll see the KTMA versions as well. If only as extras.
