Doesn't matter to me, the Red Sox are lucky they even made the playoffs this year. With that rotation? Still thought they'd slip by the ChiSox, I hate being wrong.

StreetDreamer's the only one who picked the division series results perfect. Congrats, StreetDreamer.

Current results (how many correct picks & is pick for WS winner still alive):
Mr. Atari: 2 out of 4, yes (Angels)
crowfan: 3 out of 4, yes (Cardinals)
KGB: 3 out of 4, yes (Astros)
mummifiedstalin: 1 out of 1, yes (White Sox)
ehren: 3 out of 4, yes (Cardinals)
Ro-Matt: 2 out of 4, yes (Cardinals)
CFF: 2 out of 4, NO
StreetDreamer: 4 out of 4, yes (Cardinals)
otr: 1 out of 1, yes (White Sox)
Melting Manos: 2 of 4, yes (Cardinals)
RaphaelH: 0 out of 1, OUT
skyroniter: 0 out of 1, OUT
Blurryeye: 3 out of 4, yes (White Sox)
DW: 3 out of 4, yes (Cardinals)
Congrats to SweetDreamer.
There is still hope for many of us, though. Mainly because I haven't decided how to tally points for this yet. Probably a point for each correct series pick and 5 points for picking the WS winner. Or something like that.
Some others have voted in the poll (5 for the Yankees), but since they didn't tell us who they were, they don't qualify for the skyroniter specials.

D'oh! As much as I'd love to say I left you out on purpose, I just missed it.
I'll fix you it.

I missed picking the first round, but I just had to vote for my team...I think we have a good chance this year...if we make it past Houston we'll be facing a "small ball" type of team, so hopefully that's a good thing. I'm just glad Boston and NY are out...I'm SICK to death of hearing about those two.
Go Cards!!

So. The call.
We haven't talked about this, but I blame the umpire. I go back and forth each time I see the replay over whether it was a real catch or not. But I blame the ump for, first, making the out sign, and then saying it was fine for Pierzynski to run to first. I think he second guessed himself and screwed up. To do the right thing, he should have stuck with the out call.
Now, that being said, Pierzynski had been playing catcher all night. Maybe if he didn't hear the out call, he knew tha the ump was going against his own precedent, which might, but only might, be evidence for the fact that the ump never meant to call him out.
Whatever. Crede still had to get that hit.

I want to blame the home plate umpire the most, but if Josh Paul had just tagged the batter the inning would have been over. I wonder if that's why Mike Scioscia didn't get TOO upset...being a catcher himself he probably knew the tag should have been applied if there's even a hint of doubt.
I do agree with you about Crede...he still had to get that clutch hit.

Chicago White Sox to the World Series for the first time since 1959!!!!!!
Four consecutive complete games, by four different pitchers. Now that is old school. Guillen stuck with his #1 guy even when he was struggling in the middle of the game, and his faith paid off. I love the playoffs!
Now come on Andy Pettitte and the Astros!

Man, my sports karma is all unbalanced. The White Sox are doing better than I thought (but not than I'd hoped) and the Irish get faked out on the last play to ruin their upset.
I blame those damn green jerseys. Weis isn't that dumb. I bet it was the alumni association pushing for it.
