I can certainly see it being too wordy for some people.
But yeah, TS69 is one of the most active players in the clan (and supports the Hell out of our motley bunch), and like he said, he's only on for about an hour playing. There's community stuff too, like the forums and the chat, but I can only do some of that stuff for so long. The chat feature is neat, it even changes a little based on your status and any effects and/or buffs you may have cast upon yourself.
The game is a LOT more expansive than it appears to be when you start playing. The key is to be a trooper and tough out some of the early hard stuff. That's just the prelude to a much larger and grand tapestry of humor and challenge.
I still maintain that the best thing about KoL is that it forces you to choose. You can't just spam one power over and over again, because your MP doesn't regenerate. Same with HP. You need to plan it out, and it can be boring sometimes, but usually that means that there's a lot smarter way to do it. The game makes you think. Not too many games can make that claim.

Yeah, I stay on for longer than an hour, investigating and plotting what I'll do the next day. There's so much stuff in the game, I still find something new almost everyday. If any of you are hesitant about starting somthing new and don't think you'll like it, just give it a try and old TS will help you out as much as he can. My main account is in Ronin phase right now (basically I'm serving my "drifting" time after my 4th ascension. But, I do have another account I play on too, just to discover other aspects of the game and to get certain items stockpiled like crazy.
So, if you've thought about it and haven't yet, give it a shot. I'll help ya out!

It's time to bump this thread. Our clan is losing members. But the game is still a ton of fun. If you like MST, you'll love the game. www.kingdomofloathing.comSo try it, won't we?

Oh no! I failed at this game months ago, so my account should have expired by now. Even though this is probably the simplest version of an RPG ever, I still fail at the concept. Shame, because I liked the game a lot.

Yeah, I'm hardly touching the game, these days. Halloween brought me back for the herb brownies (maaaaaan) and the spooky surprise eggs, but I haven't been doing much of anything beyond that. Fortunately, my main account is secure (bought a Mr. A, over the summer), and I think I've kept my secondary alive.
I'm disappointed that some of the oldtimers have dropped off a bit.

I'm still there every day.
I'm currently doing a hardcore run which has brought a new energy to it for me.

A brand new adventure today resulted in a laser cannon and the following text:
"As you turn to leave, you see that the death ray's laser cannon still seems to be in one piece. You pick it up, but can't get it to fire. You dance around going "pew pew pew" for a while with it, but that's got limited entertainment potential."
Gotta love the obscure MST references in this game.

Hey Mr. A, is there any way to access the Crimbo town or anything?
I've been trying for the past few days, but either I'm incredibly dumb, or I've just been missing something.

Last night was the first time it showed up.
It's in the Big Mountains.
The Crimborg have taken over. But Uncle Crimbo will still make toys.
Still no word if the candy in your Advent calendar does anything special.

Ah, cool. I was wondering if I missed something.
I forgot I was on a teatotaler run, but was bumped off of it, so I can drink booze now, but I forgot that without liver of steel, your drunkenness is only 15... so that rocket fuel in the Crimbo Cafe pushed me over the limit. Whoops.

That's right, boys and girls! The website is: www.kingdomofloathing.com, and we'd be pleased as punch to have you! Just k-mail the player "Quixote" (that's me) after you get in, and I'll be happy to whitelist you. No need to wait for a confirmation! And yeah, I'm sorry I suck so hard at editing images. Not convinced? Here's a screenshot of the game: So, c'mon, we'd love to have you, and I'm sure you'll be happy you got involved!

Oh, and to other hesitant peoples, we were thinking about starting up contests (probably monthly, but I'm not sure yet) where you can win nifty KOL stuff. Useful second prizes too!
Our clan has a rather well-stocked stash of in-game stuff, and it's all pretty darn useful! We have a meat tree and a meat bush, where you can pick meat (the game's money) off of every day!

I just signed up for a KoL account this afternoon, and so far I've managed to complete both the Toot Oriole quest (although on my first try, I screwed up the part about bringing the Hermit the Golden Twig) and the Mosquito Larva quest.

C'mon by the MST3K clan, Grady. We'd love to have you. You can find it in the Clan District in the Town. Just search for MST3K, and you'll find us. We have free meat and a lot of ways to help you along your way.
