I just signed up for a KoL account this afternoon, and so far I've managed to complete both the Toot Oriole quest (although on my first try, I screwed up the part about bringing the Hermit the Golden Twig) and the Mosquito Larva quest. C'mon by the MST3K clan, Grady. We'd love to have you. You can find it in the Clan District in the Town. Just search for MST3K, and you'll find us. We have free meat and a lot of ways to help you along your way. How do you get stuff out of the clan's stash? The site is down for maintence or I'd be more specific, but I've contributed meat to it and am not allowed to withdrawl anything.

I don't think you can withdraw meat, but you can pick meat off the bush and the tree.
If you want to withdraw items from the clan stash, you can do so if you don't exceed your karma limitations.

Hey, I finally have karma! I contributed when I started, and had 0 karma for weeks after. How does that work?

Hold on, let me check...
Uhh... the clean leader is exempt from Karma restrictions, and it's been so long since I had to worry about it, I'm not really sure. I posted a message on the Clan message board, so hopefully someone will know.
I'm pretty sure (but not certain) it's one karma point for every two meat, with a 100,000 or 10,000 karma limit. But, as stated earlier, I'm not certain. And, of course, different items have different karma values (i.e. more expensive or complex items, such as high-tier food/booze/armor/weapons are worth more.).

Okay pfft I guess I'll give it a stab It's surprisingly fun, even for someone who is RPG incompentant like I am. I've got a couple other friends to sign up, but they aren't interested in joining the clan.

someone who is RPG incompentant like I am I still don’t understand why I suck quite so badly at this. I know real RPGs are beyond me, but even for KoL, I regularly had to just grind my level up two or three beyond what was “normal” for each boss encounter or significant quest. I gave up because I would spend days or weeks of spending all my adventures on leveling up just to progress a tiny bit more. I loved the sense of humor, but both times I've had a character I've eventually just dropped the game after a while.

If you're having trouble, ITEMS are the key.
Items, potions, and other combat aides.

In the interest of sparking... uh... interest, I repeat my post from the previous page That's right, boys and girls! The website is: www.kingdomofloathing.com, and we'd be pleased as punch to have you! Just k-mail the player "Quixote" (that's me) after you get in, and I'll be happy to whitelist you. No need to wait for a confirmation! And yeah, I'm sorry I suck so hard at editing images. Not convinced? Here's a screenshot of the game: So, c'mon, we'd love to have you, and I'm sure you'll be happy you got involved!

Hooray!
I just finished my 10th (normal) ascension.
I'm almost ready to try my hand at a second hardcore ascension, followed by a Bad Moon. But first, I need to hit 11 regulars (That's ridiculous. It's not even funny.)
I need to get Double-Fisted Skullsmashing and Ambidextrous Funkslinging as permanent skills, but I kinda want to get them as HC permanents.

I have another me. Can the other me join the clan? It's a completely different character, and surprisingly I'm leveling quicker with this one than I am with the regular me.

Yeah, sure you can join.
Just apply, and I'll let ya in.
I used to have another account, a pastamancer named "Nostradumbass."
