Okay so I was on the Shout Boards and someone was begging for hints on what episodes were going to be on Vol. XVI, and B. Ward tantalized us by saying that two of the episodes had been already mentioned in the thread. If you look over the thread, you'll see that only THREE episodes are mentioned. They are: Godzilla vs. the Sea Monster, Squirm, and Diabolik. Since we can pretty much assume that Godzills will be a no-go, it's a safe bet to say that Squirm and Diabolik will probably be in the next set. Pretty sweet I say; especially considering that those films rights holders are big name studios.... Here's the link: www.shoutfactory.com/community/1894/thread.aspx

That would be cool if Shout is getting big name studios to license thier stuff. Although it really isn't that surprising since DVDs are in a decline. When DVDs took off the studios weren't willing to let anyone else release their movies (even tiny pictures that they had no intentions of releasing). That being said I would take CC Mike episodes not released on DVD over Squirm and Diabolik. My copies are pretty pristine compared to older season 5/6 Mike episodes.

Out of the eight SF MST3K DVDs released so far, three episodes have been from season 10. So its looking like they're definitely trying to finish that season off.
Personally I would prefer earlier seasons as fan copies of season 10 already were of great quality, but these also suit me.

Wait, I'm reading his post and it says "I've seen at least two of the titles in previous threads. Which threads? Eh, can't really say."
The plural use of "threads" seems to suggest he wasn't referring specifically to that thread, but the whole forum, which means it's not really limited to just Squirm or Diabolik. Unless I'm misinterpreting what he wrote...

I assume that by "here" he means that forum. I don't think it's conclusive at all.

Very cool, though it could very well be ANY of the titles mentioned by fans in the numerous MST3k threads (and probably why he didn't mind giving that kind of a hint.) I'm excited to find out what titles they've secured for the next set, perhaps a few surprises (surprises to me anyway.)

The more Joel episodes, the better.

I agree, more Joel! And add the promos, MST hour too (if you can) - I'm still holding onto my old tapes because of ads and stuff. I've got one episaode on VHS wth a hilarious Giant Leeches promo... but I can never remember what tape has what promos etc on it, so they are still taking up space, I've never given them away even when they come out on DVD.

I though Squirm's director Jeff Lieberman was angry about MST3K's handling of his magnum opus. If I remember right, he was dissatisfied with all the edits......

Actually, I think it was the guy who made Time Chasers who said that the edits were the only thing he didn't like about the MST'ed version of his film. But he acknowledged, it was because MST3K needed room for it's own segments, and commercials. Lieberman I think was just upset in general over their riffing.

Squirm guy hated it. He went mental on the IMDB forum about it!

That B Ward guy says here that he didn't mean to single out that one thread with Squirm/Diabolik mentioned. www.shoutfactory.com/community/1580/thread.aspxFrom what I've seen of Season 1, it hasn't been too funny, so I hope they stay away from it. The best part about Squirm was the Spring Fever short that's already been released, so I'd rather not have that episode yet. I'm hoping for Beast of Yucca Flats and Quest for the Delta Knights soon... and basically anything from seasons 3-6 is fine by me. Those are the golden years, IMO.
