Fantastic marketing, Santa Claus is scheduled right before Christmas. Wait ago SHOUT!
Season 1, while "unfunny" to some, shows MST3K's early work and is much appreciated by yours truly. If SHOUT! stays true to form Disc 1 of MST3K XVII will be Robot Monster. There is nothing wrong with Ro-Man the Ro-man!
I watched Warrior of the Lost World last month. Megaweapon rules.
Night of the Blood Beast no complaints, bring on Season 7. I wonder if SHOUT will give us an option to watch the regular host segments and Turkey Day? It doesn't seem that way but it would be a nice touch.
I missed out on the first limited edition MST3K set. I might pass on the new one and buy the regular.

Awesome!
Santa Claus is one of my favorites and I love Warrior ( only watched it once on Youtube about a year ago). Haven't seen the other two, and the extras are fantastic! I hope the limited edition isn't too limited.
And personally: thank you Dec. 1 release date! I though that, like the 20th Anniversary set, it would be released in October, meaning that this set, The Mighty Boosh Series 1-3 set, and Red Dwarf: Back to Earth would be released around the same time and thus seriously straining the petty cash flow.

Great, great set. Two fantastic episodes, one really good one, another clean season 1 episode, and somewhat interesting extras. The only downer is that it's a pretty bad season 1, but any season 1 is OK in my book.

Sweet set. Except for the (seemingly mandatory) S1 episode, terrific group of episodes, especially Warrior of the Lost World, which is a personal fave.
I hope the Turkey Day host segments are going to be viewable with Blood Beast through seamless branching, but I expect them just to be an extra.

Great choices! 501, 521, and 701 are three of my favorite episodes, and 105 is the only Season 1 episode I have yet to watch.

Hmmm...given the hype that we were getting, slightly disappointed on my part. But that was probably inevitable.
Warrior and Blood Beast are both great episodes. Not a big fan of Santa Claus, but the more eps from seasons 5 through 8, the better, IMO.
Yay Tom Servo figurine! Yay Turkey Day! Yay episode I haven't seen...that's...from...season...one.......................................YAY MST!

Not bad. Not great, but not bad. The KTMA talk earlier had my hopes way too high I do love Warrior Of The Lost World, though, and the Turkey Day bumpers will be nice to have. Actually, this set is pretty deep with extras, so that's not too bad.

This is a pretty good set. Corpse is one of the best season one episodes, and the rest are classics IMO.

Real nice to be getting the Servo figure " I'll be able to use them for Monopoly now ". I've not seen ANY of these being a relatively new fan but I can be sure they are funny cause only some eps are not so funny and the rest are hilarious. Yeah I was hoping for a little closer release date but 1'st is ok. I mean one JUST came out. Now I need to start clamoring for a Mini Gypsy Figure.... I can hope huh?

All of these have been considered PD at one time or another (I remember seeing WOTLW for like 50 cents on DVD somewhere) so I'm guessing that the major $$$ Shout spent was for rights and clearances for the Turkey Day material (particularly if Comedy Central's logo is still seen). This is a great set with lots of cool features. (I can't wait to re-create Turkey Day with all the bumpers.) Two A + episodes (WOTLW and Santa Claus), one solid Season One effort, and BOTH versions of NOTBB. Kudos Shout...

AWESOME!!!! ;D This is the first set that's truly been a surprise and has got me more excited than usual. Three of the titles are among my top MST3k episodes ever, and two were extremely surprising. I can't wait to find out if they licensed WARRIOR OF THE LOST WORLD and NIGHT OF THE BLOOD BEAST from MGM! That could be HUGE news in terms of likelihood for future sets. ::happy dance:: All of these have been considered PD at one time or another (I remember seeing WOTLW for like 50 cents on DVD somewhere) so I'm guessing that the major $$$ Shout spent was for rights and clearances for the Turkey Day material (particularly if Comedy Central's logo is still seen). No. Only THE CORPSE VANISHES is truly PD. forrestcrow.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=mstchat&action=display&thread=6297&page=1

Amazing set! I like the season 1 episodes a lot, they seem less frantic and contrary to popular opinion, they are funny. WOTLW is one of my all time faves and Santa Claus is probably my number one.
I just bought an original Santa Claus movie poster (US release) from the 60s, so I'm very excited about getting the ep on DVD.
If only the Brains didn't have to cut some of the more surreal scenes from that movie: the keymaster scene, additional Merlin bits, Santa working out, etc.

I have seen WOTLW and Santa Claus for under $3 on DVD (much like Future War and Werewolf) and NOTBB has been on a couple of those 50 Horror Movie Packs.

Great! 2 of my top 10 eps of all time, Santa Clause (#2 overall) and Blood Beast!!!!! Just for those alone I'm a happy camper.
The other 2 are okay, Lost World was never a high point for me. But I wont complain, because for my top 2 it more than lives up to the hype.
