I have to agree with that sentiment. It's as if Elway and Fox want him to fail. I understand that they didn't draft him, but it's foolish not to at least try and help him and see what they do, or don't have, in him. I think you guys need to give Coach Fox a break. After all, it's tough for a coach to plan his offense around a QB who can't throw a football.

It's true that Tebow can't throw, but Kyle Orton hasn't shown he can throw either. Don't the Broncos still have Brady Quinn as well?

Orton is a pretty good thrower. He's good on timing routes and when precision is needed. But he was 6-24 in the last 3 years. Yes, we have Brady Quinn, but he's basically a poor-man's Orton.
With Tebow, the game plan is to run the second string RB up the middle on 1st and 2nd down, then pass on 3rd and 8 with slant routes and out patterns while the defense is sending 8 because your O-line is terrible. So at halftime, when the offense is zero-for-10 on third down conversions, it's all Tebow's fault.
No screen passes, no misdirect options, no running plays that cut back, no rollouts or bootlegs. You know, things that would benefit a mobile QB and take advantage of an aggressive defense. Instead, it's just hand it off without fumbling and try to thread a needle on double coverage once every 4 downs with 25% less time than an average NFL QB because you have the worst line in football.
And yet, in every game Tebow's played, even against Detroit, he moves the offense like gangbusters in the 4th quarter. Why? Because he can go no huddle and play to his strengths without being handcuffed by an uber-conservative game plan. So why not open up the offense in the second quarter?
I'm not a blind homer, though. I know he's not very good. I just think at least half of the problem, if not more, is the game plan and his supporting cast.

It seems to me that a lot of NFL coaches don't really know what to do with an athletic quarterback. Remember when Michael Vick was going to revolutionize the position? Personally, I really think they should play a bit more to Tebow's strengths. Tebow should also take some extra time and work on his footwork and accuracy. There are things he can work on and improve, but since he is a first round pick, the Broncos really have to see what they have in him.

There are things he can work on and improve, but since he is a first round pick, the Broncos really have to see what they have in him. An NFL quarterback usually runs when the play's busted and didn't go as planned. A regular offense designed around a quarterback running the ball would be annihilated because defenses are simply too athletic and sophisticated to have problems with that scheme. The only time a quarterback would be able to successfully run on a planned play is when it's a contrast to a more pro style scheme. Naked bootlegs wouldn't work if you ran them 40% of the time. And Tebow's no Michael Vick. Besides, quarterbacks like Vick run into problems because they're mobile. They tend to scramble too readily because they view it as a viable option. And that is, as I noted, a busted play. For every ludicrous 50 yard run Vick's done, he's had ten that didn't go anywhere or even lost yardage, and he's had many more that led every person in his team's organization to wince and wonder if he's going to get the crap knocked out of him this time.

On the bright side, the Texans are just continuing to leave a trail of debauched and saddened victims in the wake of their reign of horrific terror. It may be time to get Direct TV (or generic equivalent) so I can watch Texans games. It would be interesting to follow a team that won occasionally. You lucky b******! You have a second team to root for! So, my easy to predict prediction of the Redskins came true, from first to last in 60 seconds. We always have next year...oh, wait, maybe not. As for Tebow, he's just a quarterback during the age of instant gratification and the ALL-MIGHTY sports media. You mean he needs to learn? Get him out of there! If the past had today's media, 90% of all the great quarterbacks would never have had a chance to start. My team had Billy Kilmer as quarterback in the 1970's. Man did he look bad playing, but boy did he know how to win. I say let him play. This whole Tebow should sit thing smacks more of the media types just not liking him and his fan base more than anything else. At least, that's the way it comes off to me.

Woo-Hoo! The Packers are still undefeated! Sadly my home state team are the anti-packers. The Seahawks are dismal... it's actually painful to watch. They are sloppy, incompetent. There are far too many yellow flags on the field. Hey guys, I don't turn on a game to watch the refs work. Last year at least they could be entertaining, and even pull off moments of zen (ala the playoff win vs the Saints) but this is unwatchable. We miss you Matt Hasselbeck! Thank the Lord I have Green Bay. Woo-Hoo PACKERS WON THE SUPER BOWL WOOO! (MJ gets drunk and attacks a giant spider)

nice field goal, gano. (a franchise-record 59-yarder just before halftime to break another record -- a franchise-record scoreless streak for the skins.)
good to have something to take away from what's otherwise shaping up to be another sad performance from the B&G today. i think it's time to just fire everyone except Gano and London Fletcher and start over. And that includes the Redskinettes. They must not be shaking the poms right. I bet the real Redskinettes have been taken hostage by Mr. Plinkett and even as we speak they're being forced to watch the Star Wars Holiday Special. I mean, who can win under these conditions?

And again, in other news, Texas is showing the Browns how their cleats taste. Texans fans are starting to talk Superbowl, which to me seems a tad premature. Still, though, they're looking damn good. SURE WISH I COULD WATCH IT.

You're correct...and UGH!! Can we get to the next century already? This one isn't going so well for the Redskins. Our luck will be that Daniel Snyder is a descendant of Methuselah and will live to the age of 300 and own the team for the next two centuries.

Talk about the exception that proves the rule: The heroic super-long field goal that just goes to show the 'Skins offense can't even get into realistic field goal range. I dunno what is to be done. I'm not seeing a lot of heroics from Beck but the play-calling is bad, too, they should keep it on the ground more and give him some time to learn the line and the receivers. He seems to like to scramble and run out right, which is unlike Grossman, who likes to plant his feet and go deep (i.e., get sacked). Which is good, it's better to have a fast-footed QB when the line's so bad. I've got hope for Beck, though not this year. Grossman, not so much. I guess I'll just watch the rest of the season for the dramz.

Now THAT'S how you game plan with Tebow as your QB. The Raider fans were chanting "Tebow sucks" the entire first half. They stopped chanting when the Broncos put up 31 in the second half, and then resorted to throwing bottles at Bronco players as they stood in the end zone again and again. You stay classy, Oakland.
By the way, Tebow had a higher QB rating today than Tom Brady, Eli Manning, Ben Roethlisberger, Mark Sanchez, Joe Flacco and Philip Rivers. I'm sure that won't make the ESPN talking points memo.
