So the lockout is over and it was as anticlimactic as many thought it would be. Now, what does the new season bring? Will the Pack repeat? Will the Jets finally break through? What of the Lions, are they finally on the cusp of no longer sucking? Are the Eagles truly a Dream Team? Will the NFC West be horrible again? What of the Patriots and picking up Johnson and Haynesworth? Are the Bucs ready to truly contend again? Will McNabb be reborn in Minnesota? Thoughts?

*waits for anual Mr. Atari lecture* Dream team? Hmm, not sure about that. The Eagles still need a LB and an offensive line (or so I hear) but they were pretty agressive in free agency, and they should be rock solid against the pass. I was listenening to some guys on ESPN diss my Packers for not doing anything in FA, but hell, they won a Super Bowl after losing 18 or so players, and losing 3 starters during that game. I think getting most of those guys back will see the Pack as a stronger team overall. I'm rooting for Detroit, they've done some good things and if that QB can stay healthy they might be able to be competative. I;m also very interested to see what the Titans do in the post Jeff Fisher era. Hoping Jake Locker has a long and fruitful career.

I have paid absolutely NO attention to NFL stuff so far. Baseball and my miniscule attention to college football takes up my allotment of sports.
That said, I'm hoping that the Bears implode again, because it's always more fun when they're bad than when they're halfway good and lose it all.

*waits for anual Mr. Atari lecture* You know, I was just thinking yesterday that this might be the year I get back into football. My baseball teams are all DOA, and I just can't work up any interest for the Phillies or Red Sox anymore. So I'll spare you the "wait until the World Series is over" spiel this time. If the Broncos start Orton all year, they'll probably win more games than if they start Tebow. But we're talking 6-10 instead of 4-12. So give the guy a chance. He's sloppy, but he makes things happen, and would be a blast to watch every week.

I know it was only the first preseason game, but I didn't think Packers 2nd string QB Matt Flynn looked that good at all. Maybe he had a bad night, I don't know. And the defense needs some work too.

I know it's only pre-season, and it at that point the backups to the backups were in the game.... but that Packer comeback was a hell of a lot of fun. Might be the highlight of their football lives for some of those players. A 2 minute drill, a TD pass after a scramble, a 2 point conversion, a successful on-side kick, a couple of nice completions and a 51 yard game winning FG!

First game up - Packers for FTW... but where the hell was the defense tonight? A couple of nice ST touchdowns for each side.
Exciting high flying offensive work, Pack got off some big plays that had me cheering.
While I was happy to see Green Bay get to bask in the attention a SB win brings. I got tired of all the other hype, and skipped the music. Too much hooplah, lets just play the freakin' game!

Too much hooplah, lets just play the freakin' game! You obviously misunderstand what the NFL is all about.

I skip the pregames and the post games etc and just watch the game itself. Do fans actually sit through that stuff week in and week out? I remember in the olden days it was a little half hour show with a few interviews and Jimmy the Greek picking games. Then they hiried loud hillbilly's like Terry Bradshaw, and I stopped watching.

I can't believe the Ravens really did that. To the Steelers.
Beautiful.

DirecTV had a free preview of their NFL Sunday Ticket package yesterday.
All I'm gonna say is that today seems like a good day to go sell some blood and semen for cash.
