well, I guess I should explain why, since list threads ARE boring.
Soultaker - Leaktaker! Bustaker! etc, etc. "where does that guy keep his acorns?", "My nephew was in Mighty Ducks". laughs all the way through.
Puma Man - "There's something wrong with this mirror", the absolute stupidity of the costume, the way he flies, the music. "PEW-MA MAN!"
Laserblast - the first hour is the funniest goddamn thing ever. "we're on the third movie!", and so on.. and one of my all-time favorite lines: "I bought the drapes too short, but I found a way to deal with it!"
Zombie Nightmare - "what the hell is she doing here?" "what the hell are we doing here?", "How ya diddly' doin'?"
Warrior of the Lost World - "the unclear war has been forgot", "Jimmy Carter is.. Missing In Action" and so forth.

1)Village of the Giants-no matter how inane it is, the movie that fried it's way into my pre-puberty-minded cranium still holds an allure to me (just check out my webpage to see how it 'warped my fragile little mind') 2)Santa Claus Conquers the Martians-shown to me by my cousin Kevin, it was our holiday tradition for several years to watch it, and when it came out, I had to get it. 3)Final Sacrifice-One of the best riffings the MST3K guys have ever done- and having been only to Toronto, it gave me an idea that rural Canada is much like rural Iowa (meaning-we're not alone!) 4)Hobgoblins-the only MST3K I've ever cringed in horror at, and it serves as a film on how NOT to make a film. 5)Time Chasers-since Back to the Future, I've been an avid fan of time travel, and the crew does such a great bit on riffing on this one-though how the guys can make a Time Chasers 2 still has me perplexed (as Marty McFly would say-this is heavy!).

Can I just say that I really wish I had put Master Ninja I in my top 5?

NO! just kidding! i have a limited collection of mst3k, unfortunately, though i love it so. i am hoping to increase my stash on dvd asap. so my top five come from what i have: 1. jack frost - i don't know where to start with this one. the riffs were great - they certainly had a lot to work with! 'oh, where the hell's my car?" that whole bizarre bear/mushroom guy thing - "it barely works!" and that scary family. i love it when the dog starts jumping all over the old man when he comes outside and crow goes, "get back into that basement, old man!" and that witch? what the hell? one of my all time favorite things to do is to get a really good buzz going and watch 'jack frost.' 2. the undead. wow - that movie was so confusing! it took me several viewings to understand just what in the hell was going on. but the whole thing was hilarious, from beginning to end. that fruity devil, the freaky billy barty - i loved how crow and servo drooled over the evil witch - lydia? and not to repeat myself, but that witch! what the hell? and that weird grave digger guy...whew. one of my all time favorite things to do is to get a really big buzz going and watch 'the undead.' 3. girl in gold boots. do i even have to justify that? to tell the truth, i actually like some of the songs in that movie. not all of them, but a few. the riffs in that were killer, just one after the other. i loved the way the guys made fun of buzz and how he talked. 'no, wait - my shishter!" i loved how stupid michelle was - 'all right - you find your hole!" and how slimy leo was. i guess everyone here knows that guy was one of judy garland's husbands, but i remember that just floored me when i realized it. what was judy thinking? i loved the scene where buzz just magically appears in the restaurant with cooter and michelle, all of that goofy dancing and that dune buggy scene. one of my all time favorite things to do is to get a really good buzz going and watch 'girl in gold boots.' 4. the deadly bees. i love watching that one! it is just too stupid. i love how that blond chick's answer to everything is to start a fire. i just love the general dreariness of the whole movie, really. one of my favorite things to do is to get a really good buzz going and watch 'the deadly bees.' 5. and finally - track of the moon beast. that movie is so rich. johnny longbone's stew ingrediants, cathy exclaiming, "moon rock? oh, wow!" the riffs were classic. "Oh, paul! your pants are killing you!" when paul says, "it was so hot in my room last night..." and crow finishes with, "so i killed a tent full of old guys." one of my favorite things to do is to - okay, i'll stop beating that dead horse now! honorable mention goes to 'hamlet.' i know it is so blah and wordy, but i love the riffs mike and the bots do to it - cracks me up every time!

Glad to see you put Deadly Bees in there solgroupie. Not one of my top five but I like it. It would probably make more bottom five lists so nice to see it get some attention.

I caught it recently on YouTube (hadn't seen it for years) and it was quite amusing. I'm not a big fan of the Sci-Fi era, but you picked some good episodes there.

1. Zombie Nightmare - I love cheesy 80's horror flicks, and these is pretty much the defination of that. And it has Adam West!
2. I Accuse My Parents - Terrific riffing on a watchable little film.
3. Escape 2000 - I picked this one at of any of the Season 7 episodes I could have put in it's place. Great stuff here. "The PARROTS are to be eliminated?!"
4. Space Mutiny - Does this one need explaining?
5. Gamera - "They laugh at you, don't they Kenny? That's because they've never tasted hell."

I'm proud to say I've seen every available episode of MST3K, not bad for a British based Mistie who only discovered it three years ago me thinks, and these are my favourites at the moment; 1) Manos: Hands of Fate: Well it's the Daddy isn't it? Who knew movie making could get so bad? It figures it was directed by a manure salesman. The worst movie featured, although that could be, and no doubt has been, debated, coupled with some of the tightest, funniest riffing ever heard on the show. And Torgo is such a great character! How do you know he's evil? He's got big knees, a speech impedement and two sets of eyebrows. The riffs on the way he speaks crack me up every time! 2) Cave Dwellers Miles O' Keefe became a minor celebrity in Britain thanks to a TV show called So Graham Norton, made when he was still funny, in which, for reasons I can't remember, Graham became Miles' stalker, phoning him constantly and even getting him on the show. They talked about Tarzan the Ape Man, but surprisingly this movie didn't come up. Hmmm..... I just love this episode full stop. One of the first I saw, I went for the Rhino box sets and single DVDs first, this was just a standout. From the goofy invisible monsters to handgliding(!) this was just hilarious. They had Miles' costar Bo Derek in that Tarzan film on Graham Norton and they phoned him. She didn't seem to remember who he was! He definately came out of it looking like a good guy. Shame he was in this movie really. 3) Space Mutiny So many funny names for the big slab of Beef playing the lead! Fridge Largemeat, Bolt Vanderhuge. It also has the sweatiest villian ever and a woman who rises from the dead purely to get to work being a space receptionist on time! 4) Outlaw You can see why they won the Peabody for this one. It goes a long way to cementing Mike as host purely because it's such an assured episode and sets up a pretty nice run of episodes to finish Season 5. Another one with beefy men not wearing much, I may need to question my sexuality after this list, and a faded Jack Palance. You've got to love good actors turning up in crap like this cos the SOL crew have such a great time making fun of them! Oh, and the evil queen woman's hot! And that's not just to reassert my manliness after all the beefy men! Stop looking at me like that! 5) Skydivers Say what you like, but I love the Coleman Francis episodes, as they somehow make for great laughs. This is probably his least painful movie and features some very funny riffing throughout. It was a toss up between this and Red Zone Cuba, the second episode I ever saw, so at that point it was the worst film I had ever seen! I suppose it set me up nicely for being able to watch the painful movies, and as such I love both that and Skydivers, but only because the riffing is so good. Episodes like Mighty Jack and Castle of Fu Manchu just aren't that funny and the movie beats you down. Skydivers doesn't fall into that trap. Oh and Coleman Francis is easily the worst director ever. None of my mates at film school believe me when I say he's worse than Ed Wood or Roger Corman because they refuse to believe movies get worse. Oh they so do! I am in the middle of watching every episode in order from K04 to 1013. Found out there are a few people on this site doing that. I'm watching two episodes a week so it's taking two years if I counted right. I started on January 1st 2006 and at this point have just watched Castle of Fu Manchu, not in my top 5, how surprising!, and am about to rap up Season 3 with Master Ninja 2 on Tuesday. I really can't remember Season 4 at all so I'm looking forward to seeing it again. You never know a new favourite may emerge. Honourable mentions go to The Brain That Wouldn't (Couldn't) Die, as, like Mike, it was my first, Time Chasers, cos it's a very funny episode, and the Gamera movies, third season, not KTMA, as they were, mostly, excellent. Also Incredible Melting Man, excellent episode and the DVD of the un-Mistied versions in my Video Shop for £2, that's £1.98 too dear! And Night of the Blood Beast. It really is a great show Myatery Science Theater 3000, isn't it? I didn't count the Movie cos you asked for episodes, but it would be number 5 if I did. The first thing I saw of this phenomina and I love it! Right, Skydivers is out. I've just watched Magic Voyage of Sinbad and what an episode. I didn't like it on my first viewing, but now its in at number 5. Fantastic stuff all round! Just in case someone's still tallying this up!

I have only seen roughly 50 episodes at this point, but I look forward to eventually seeing the other 125-ish episodes by the time I die. Aren't you all jealous of me? Here's what I like the best so far out of what I've seen:
1. Time Chasers 2. Cave Dwellers 3. The Side Hackers 4. Boggy Creek II: And the Legend Continues 5. Pod People

I've always liked... #1 Overdrawn at the Memory Bank - This movie is just so bad. The script must have taken one drug filled afternoon to write. You have to watch it about 10 times before the faintest idea of what the plot is creeps into your head. I can't stop from busting out laughing during this ep, which easily throws it into #1.
#2 Cave Dwellers - A classic. Every riff is brilliant in it's own special way. The host segments are among the greatest I've seen yet.
#3 Brain that Wouldn't Die - It must have taken a person with a very different mind to write the screenplay for this movie. Definitly classic MST, from cheap head puns to William Proxmire, it never fails to entertain.
#4 Final Sacrifice - Another great episode. The Canada riffs are just hilarious, you couldn't ask for funnier characters from a movie. I was always confused wether it was "Tronagregor" or "Troy" because characters pronounced the kid's name differently. Brillant riffing throughout.
#5 Atomic Brain - Classic midnight MST. The riffs are just hilarious and always entertaining, mocking the very stupid elements of the movie. The scene with Mike's "It's Alexander's Ragtime Band!" has to be one of the funniest 5 minutes in the series.

My list changes all the time but this is what it is right now. The Giant Gila Monster - one of the first episodes I ever watch still very funny to me. The Sinister Urge - Love this one just the way they make fun of this Wood film with police going after the porn people . Though you must ask yourself what are they doing that is against the law, filming women in there bathing suits. Gloria is a riot, plus they short grows on me. 12 to the Moon - Every thing about this episode is first rate. Great host segment, great short, hilarious riffing of the film. Merlin’s Shop of Mystical Wonders - this is one of the episodes that just grow on me. Funnier to me each time I see it. Pod People - A classic that has one of the funniest segments I ever saw the potato Elephant man. Left out many but will be on other list of this type in the future.
