According to the statistics of the "Your Top 5 Episodes" thread, not enough of you like/appreciate/have seen enough non-Rhino Joel episodes*. This week's contest will remedy that. To enter, you must list the three non-Rhino Joel eps you'd like to win, and explain why. Because, as we all know, LIST THREADS ARE BORING! I will pick the most worthy entry...completely arbitrarily, of course. Anyone can enter once, and- as you might expect- the winner will receive the episodes in his or her entry from our good friend, skyroniter. *To be specific, in that thread, 25 different eps have received 4 votes or more. One (count 'em, one) of those 25 is a non-Rhino Joel ep (Gamera).

Um, I realize this is a little off-topic, but who won the last contest? It was never announced, and that thread is locked, so I can't post there.

Well right off the bat my first pick is episode 201: Rocketship X-M As, after the somewhat shaky first season, we have ourselves a new SOL design, and a new Tom Servo voice, along with TV's Frank as well.
Number two would be Secret Agent Super Dragon which holds a somewhat special place with me, as it was the first ever MST episode I recorded on tape, but, unfortunately, lost to age and moving to a new house. (The tape now, sadly, is nothing but static.)
My third choice: 322: Master Ninja Why? Any episode that makes fun of Timothy Van Patten is ok in my book!

EDIT: Actually, I think I ought to hold off on this week's contest. I just found out I won last week's, and I don't need to win two weeks in a row. (Er, if I were to win, I mean. I'm not quite pompous enough to expect to win. )

306 - Time of the Apes -This episode holds a special place in my heart, because it was the first episode of MST3k I had seen after having forgotten about it for years and it is the episode that launched me into become a huge fan of the show. As for the episode's content itself, I found myself laughing at every riff I heard. Maybe it was just the shock of this hilarious concept, or maybe it was just hilarious.
501 - Warrior of the Lost World -What can I say.. Donald Pleasance = easy target. He is so easy to mock. And the paperchase guy's mumbly voice. And the stupid talking motorcycle.. And of course Joel and the Bots' compassion for Megaweapon. The movie was just bad. So the episode was just funny.
508 - Operation Double 007 -The thing that makes this episode for me is the host segment where Joel continues to say.. "I know..." That small bit was just hilarious. Funnier than the rest of the episode. But it alone makes the episode great. A strange and small reason to love an episode, I know. But that's just how I operate.

501 - Warrior Of The Lost World 504 - Secret Agent Super Dragon 508 - Operation Double 007
I have never laid eyes on any of these episodes, so I can't say I want them for any other reason than because they are all action movies... or supposed to be. Plus these episodes are right at the point in time where I think Joel and the show in general was really hitting its stride, judging from other episodes I have seen from this timeframe.

I've only known Atari a short time, but I'm pretty certain that "Just because" isn't going to win you any prizes in his contest. I think he's probably looking for some real explanations.

It's only a temporary thing, until I give my really, really good reasons as to why I picked the episodes I did.
