Well my patented catch-phrase of "Yeah, You stand alone" is something I stole from the show that is apparently more closely identified with my vocabulary than MST.

Like I always say, wait until they die. The grandkids won't be so picky about licensing out grandma/grandpa's old movie collection. All they'll see is dollar signs. Susan Hart is a fascinating case. My hunch is that she's been given some pretty inflexible business advice by someone she trusts, and she is simply following it. And does it make me sound like a conspiracy theorist when I point out that Wade Williams has called Susan Hart his "dear friend," and talks as if he has insight into her business decisions? Quite the opposite actually. Wade has told me that he's tried to get Susan to distribute her stuff (The unriffed films) before they completely looses value (and I suspect he's not the only one). He's as confused as anyone as to why she didn't accept the keno offer.

Yeah if it's a point of does she have a problem with the MST versions of the films, as far as I can tell the answer to that is "No". I've never heard anything to verify that and with the people that I've talked to it doesn't see that that's the reason she won't bite. I'd like to get her input and believe me I'm working on it.

Volume one has a new features about the production company Crown. It's brief but up to par with other Shout sets. Trailers for the films have been included, but taken away from the Rhino set are the uncut versions of the films. If you're a fan of owning the films featured without the commentary, the Rhino set is worth keeping. But if you like Shout's documentaries, Shout's might be worth having too. Volume two has MST Hour segments for Cave Dwellers and Pod People. Extras wise it's superior to the Rhino set, which had no bonuses whatsoever. I hear Pod People has inferior video though, but I haven't checked it out. Volume three has all the bonuses from the Rhino set. It also has an interview with Ross Hagen and MST Hour wraps for The Unearthly. Another plus in Shout's favor is that the stinger for Atomic Brain, which was edited out of Rhino's version, is included. As far as I know, the volume four sets are identical. If it comes down to packaging and menues, I'd say stick with Rhino. Shout's packaging is very basic and the menus are plain and the same for all four episodes. However the Shout set is a shelf space saver. The upcoming volume five set is supposed to include all of the old bonuses as well. But what makes it a must have is the improved transfer on Merlin's Shop of Mystical Wonders, which had a screwed up contrast in the previous set. Edit: Also of note, the volume one set has more effort in it than the others. In addition to the mini-doc, it features new menus as well. I suspect the set performed slightly below expectations, because the rest of the sets have a basic, recycled menu for every episode and reused bonuses with Hour wraps where applicable. The Ross Hagen interview I believe was only available because they had already interviewed him for another documentary, so I wouldn't expect many new features in the future. Awesome, thank you for all the info. From the sound of things I think I will just go in order and skip the fourth one. Due keep in mind that the print they used for Sidehackers looks terrible. Not all of the prints match up to the original rhino versions.

For whatever reason film ventures needed to replace some of the music in order to proceed with their actions. If you watch Space Travelers, the music is different in some of the scenes. The scene where Gregory Peck tells Lee Grant that Richard Crenna is dead has the same music as the opening from Pod People. It's probably a legal that where they can say "Hey it's not the same movie. The music is different." .

In that time, I never thought to ask Jordan Fields about the Godzilla VS MEgalon Debacle. Probably for the best that we didn't. I Don't think FVI ever owned any home video rights. I think they were just a TV distributor.

Prolific Game Show Producer and Host Chuck Barris has died at the age of 87. Chucky Baby was a legend in the game show industry with hits like Dating GAme, Newlywed Game, $1.98 Beuty Pagent, Treasure Hunt, 3's a Crowd, The Parent Game. He changed the face of television. Gonna miss that crazy man.

That does not bode well for a vol 39 considering that only 1 episode is really likely at this point.

THey did with the Weird al Show so Never Say Never. What was wrong with their Weird Al Show release? I don't think I ever sent off for a replacement of that- and that set is OOP now. If you watch episode 11 The Competition the audio constantly cuts out during the episode. It's impossible not to notice.

Shout has never bothered to issue replacements, so unfortunately, there might not be any hope for a replacement on Sidehackers either. THey did with the Weird al Show so Never Say Never.
