Hey guys, guess what? I just made "Mighty Science Theater" sound even mightier! Some background first: Don't know if any of you remember or knew about it, but a few years ago, a guy on SoundCloud got quite a bit of attention when he uploaded a Justin Beiber song that he ran through Paulstretch, which is a program that can stretch audio out to extreme lengths. What originally was a 3-minute piano pop tune, was transformed into an amazing 35-minute ambient epic which many compared to the works of Sigur Rós. That's right, someone actually made Justin Beiber sound good. As you might guess, this sparked a internet fad in which many people used this Paulstretch program to stretch out all sorts of different songs to see what happened, some of them also sounding pretty cool. But something I noticed no one's tried doing yet was the ending credits theme to MST3K, aka Mighty Science Theater. It seemed like a good candidate for a stretch-out, so this is what I got after running it through Paulstretch: soundcloud.com/triple_sss/mst3k-end-theme-stretched-out-800-percentAll I can say is, hot damn! I think it actually sounds pretty incredible like this, you guys should really hear it for yourselves! So what do ya think, sirs?

Well how 'bout that? I've only been here for less than a month, and I've already reached "Nanite" status.
You guys need to step it up!

You tell people to "watch out for snakes". ...And when you say it, your voice somehow sounds like it's coming from somewhere else.

Final Justice The riffing was surprisingly sparse at times, but it was still a pretty good episode. I especially liked the "Mike's tripping" host segment.

Yeah, I've heard of this thing, it's pretty cool.
He got Crow T. Robot pretty quickly, but he wasn't able to guess The Nanites.

You look up into the sky on a clear starry night, and for a short moment you expect to see Dr. Forrester and Frank suddenly pop up and sing "La-la-la!"
Your hands and arms are starting to become more difficult to move and control for some odd reason.
You're beginning to have an unhealthy obsession over Richard Basehart.

You're riffing a movie and you keep getting a strange feeling that there's someone or something recording you from behind.
You start to wear jumpsuits everywhere, all the time.
You're beginning to wonder how Joel/Mike eats and breathes on the SOL. (In which case you should just relax, 'cause it's just a TV show)
Those are just some things from off the top of my head, post your ideas here!

Or in less fancy non-Latin terms, it's 25th anniversary.
It's gonna be coming up soon at the end of this year, so what cool things do you think will happen? Another cast & crew reunion? A special DVD box set from Shout Factory? What ideas do you guys have?

Hmm, I thought we would've had more posts in here by now. Granted, the other forum I frequent is very active compared to this place, and we tend to have several of these "general" threads as a catch-all for the small talk and to help reduce extraneous threads. However, those general threads also happen to be the most active too, so don't be afraid to post a lot in this thread as well. Anyways, I recently got myself a Microsoft Surface tablet. Even though it's the RT version and not the fancy Pro one, I actually like it a lot. I do wish they had more apps for it though, but despite that it's great for browsing the web on sites like these. This forum works great on it while I'm on the train to work.

Just saw Hercules Against the Moon Men myself. Yup, it's official: MST3K is officially the greatest TV show I've ever seen. Officially!

Y'know, DeviantArt is really like a double-edged sword. Sometimes you can find some amazing artwork there, but on the other hand they've also got stuff no sane man should see. For example, a few days ago I tried searching for MST3K fanart just out of curiousity. Some of the art I saw was actually pretty cool, but when I got a few pages in I started seeing Joel/Mike slash art pics, one of which had Joel with his jumpsuit mostly unzipped with his back and buttcrack showing. At that point I thought, "Okaaaaay I think I'm done here." I could really use some brain bleach now. Your first mistake: "Sometimes you can find some amazing artwork there." Touché. Guess I should've just said "good artwork" instead. Or maybe "decent"... Or maybe "okay"... Or maybe "acceptable"... Ah forget it, they're all sick bastards anyway!
