I think I was planning to try for that one - but he wouldn't ship to the UK...

Well hmmm . . . I just won a buyitnow auction for Beginning of the End. The seller is mountmedia and the price was $11.33 with $7.29 shipping. I had been doing the following searches: "mystery beginning" and "mst3k beginning". I've been watching the recent auctions for BotE for about the last two weeks (and missed a couple darn good opportunities to get it reasonably cheap). Then this evening, oh, uh, morning (almost 2:00 now), I searched for "mst beginning" (no 3k) and a buyitnow popped up. So I jumped on it! But now . . . A thing or two is worrying me. After the auction I did a "completed items" search for "mst beginning" and it showed 15 other auctions going back to Jan 6th with the same parameters: buyitnow, $11.33, mountmedia, etcetera. I checked on the earliest one to see if that buyer had received their DVD and left feedback. It seems however that the buyer is still waiting. Now, I also notice that mountmedia's rating is at 98% mostly because of slow shipping and items not in stock. So, I really really hope that this seller just has some kind of big stock of BotE and just ships slowly! If I find out otherwise, I shall be quite PUT OUT! I can tell ya now, I was one of the ones who used 'Buy it Now' from mountmedia, and after about 2 weeks with no dvd, I sent a message asking if it had been sent and they responded saying that after looking, they didn't seem to have it in stock so they would refund (which they did pretty quickly). Well, considering you can't get this episode anymore, I don't think they'll get it back in stock. And I notice, they're still listing new auctions for MST3K: Beginning of the End also, which is weird to me. Sorry, I know that's not really good news... I mean, no harm done since I got a refund, but the dvd would have been nicer...

So beware of the big commercial ebay stores selling Beginning of the End, especially with the Buy It Now option. Now I'm gonna look for a used copy selling on ebay by an individual.

Right. I've avoided such sellers in the past, but I think I got a little giddy and thusly shortsighted (also it was 1:30 in the morning). My hope went way down when I realized how often the seller had recently listed the dvd.
A cautionary tale for y'all.

I could probably get a copy or 2 if anyone wanted one who doesn't have one. I saw a used one for 1o bucks and a brand new one (at borders) for 20. If they still have them i culd get them and then whoever wants one can let me know.

Thought folks might like to know that I was able to grab a "gently used" copy of BotE off of Amazon for $20, still had the clingy sticker in it. There seems to be a copy for about that price every few days, so check back often!
