SN just announced (well, not "just", but the last couple of hours) that Rhino can't distribute The Beginning Of The End anymore due to rights issues.
So, that's a VHS, a DVD, and the MST3K Collection Volume 1 that we can't see anymore.
Right?
Man....I'm glad that that's the one DVD collection that I've picked up so far...

That was one of the single-disc DVD's.... But anyway, that news is sad.

Collection Volume 1 is still available.
Luckily, I have both VHS and DVD.
And I guess I'm even luckier, because I have The Amazing Colossal Man (oh yeah, you wish) on VHS!!

Holy crap, I'm so glad I went on an MST DVD binge this summer (when I had the money). I love Begining of the End, it sucks that no one will be able to distribute it any more.
Say, do you think that means that traders will start selling it again?

Say, do you think that means that traders will start selling it again? I don't know if they will, but they ought to. They did with "The Amazing Colossal Man" when that went out of print. However, there is still a blacklist against "MST:The Movie" for some inexplicable reason, so who knows?

Well SN does say that they're trying to resolve the problem, but I guess it's best to play it safe and not get our hopes up. I'm just glad I've got a copy already.

I also already have it on dvd. I hope the Peter Graves fan club will be able to recover from this monstrous blow.

So, Beginning Of The End and The Amazing Colossal Man are the only two OP episodes now?

Trade it. Sell it. If it's not available officially them it's open to other means as far as I'm concerned. And in my opinion The Movie as well.

I think you have to trade the broadcast version now though. At least that's how you have to do it with Amazing Colossal Man.

And The Movie, technically, though there are fewer broadcast versions of that one floating around.

And The Movie, technically, though there are fewer broadcast versions of that one floating around. Info says it's on Sundance this month. Sky and the other traders better get taping.

Apparently, the rights for Beginning of the End have been pulled from EVERYone. Svengoolie lost the rights to show it in Chicago, and aired his last showing of it last night (Saturday, 12/10).
