They befriend (and one or two of course fall in love with) their lost compatriots who've been trying for years to get home. Now they must find a way back through the hurricane to their own home, but will the others come with them or stay in their own world? And will they even be able to find their way home? Helicoptor pilot and flight instructor J.J. Tungsten is close to retirement when terrorists set fire to some large forest with lots of dry, dead plants in it. J.J. helps the fire fighters battle the inferno as it spreads toward the enormous, well insured homes close by--which it turns out were built on a landfill, that was in turn built over an indian burial mound--while also searching for and capturing the terrorists. Who end up being the folks that live in the houses nearby who wanted to collect the insurance because their houses were haunted and smelled like trash. (how's that for convoluted...)
