I liked The Search For Spock. I think when I was little I might've actually enjoyed it more than The Wrath Of Khan (abominatorial behavior, I know, but keep in mind how young I was.)
I've not seen Search For Spock in ages, come to think of it....I should watch it again. All I really remember is a rapidly aging Spock-child, and this picture of Lloyd's Klingon character shouting something into a communicator and beaming away (and I might be imagining that second scene, I'm not sure.)

Generally when someone slams rumors as untrue, that slam is not a rumor. But with a franchise like this, one never knows. Sooner or later the rumor-slamming will itself be revealed as a rumor, for something like Trek or Harry Potter or any of those uber-popular franchises.
Anyway, I much prefer the idea of a mostly new cast, and Philip Seymour Hoffman is awesome. I can so see him in Trek (even though he resembles a little too closely the guy who played Neelix). ;D
