Well, deepdiscount.com has "Mystery Science Theater 3000 Vol. 12" listed at $36.89... which is a really good price. I don't know if this will all hold up, because they're not calling it by its proper name (20th Anniversary blah blah), and they are listing the retail price at "$59.95" but if that price holds, then I'm definitely ordering it from them. I've ordered from them MANY, MANY times and I have no major complaints. Its even free shipping... My only complaint about them is the varied arrival times. But, I've never had to wait for more than a week for my crap to arrive, so... Overstock.com used to be the best for MST3k stuff, but their prices seemed to have gone up considerably in the last year for new releases.

Vol 12 is a Rhino release. If they were listing the 20th Anniversary release under the wrong name, it would be vol 13.

"Volume 12" is the last Rhino release, not the forthcoming Shout Factory release. DeepDiscount doesn't have a listing for the new set yet.
*EDIT* jason00 beat me to it.

That's right, you guys. Crabcakes! For some reason Vol. 12 is a mental blockage for me. I love Vol. 12, so I don't know why I always forget that that's the current volume we are up to. I feel like such a potato head. I'm going to go dive headfirst into a chipper-shredder. But before that, let me add, that this potentially sucks... Now it seems that none of the discount DVD stores are going to stock MST3k titles. I will always pay for any commercial DVD of the shows that I love as a way to support them, so they can continue to produce such fine products... However, due to my low income status, I have to find the cheapest avenue to purchase said DVDs. Maybe I'm just being paranoid, but I hope to God one of the discount places has it available for a reasonable price or I'll have to get a second job. Oh, what do I care. I'm fixing to take a nose dive into a grinder. Toodles!

Now it seems that none of the discount DVD stores are going to stock MST3k titles. I think I have ordered all* of the MST3K box sets from DeepDiscount. Before you give into despair, you should know that DeepDiscount is usually one of the last to list an upcoming MST3K box set. At least from my experience. Especially if the November release date holds up - it could be August (or September) before they list a pre-order. We don't know what's actually in it yet; it's far too early to get worried about DeepDiscount not carrying it - unless someone can point to a history of DeepDiscount *not* carrying Shout Factory titles. (I do know they carried the SCTV boxes - that's where I got them, too.) *Vast majority, if not all. I don't exactly know. Does it really matter? Yeah? Well, shush.

Plus, they have vol. 12 listed on backorder and I found that kind of strange because it is the most current release... so, that was my only reason for initial concern. It truly is WAY early... and much like you I got all of my MST3k DVDs from deepdiscount and overstock. AND, I got my SCTV from deepdiscount as well. I am so excited to see someone else is an SCTV and MST3k fan. Those are two of my absolute favorite shows--period. Here's to cheap DVDs of excellent TV shows!

I also will scrounge around for the best price. Will even wait for Deep Discount 20% sale if I have to (though that could be a distaster as with the Godzilla release). I did overstock once but since then, they've not been too hot for the best deal. Familyvideo had a great pre-order price once, even gave me a new member $5 off discount. They haven't match it since... so I mostly do Deep Discount but they are one of the last to list I've noticed.
I'll wait and hunt and search and scour till I find the best deal.

No worries. DeepDiscount is actually at the end of their 20% off sale right now, so I'm sure a lot of people snatched up those MST sets (that's where I also got the majority of mine when I was trying to catch up on past releases). I'm excited for this Shout Factory release, even though I will still probably wait to order it. They did an excellent job with Freaks and Geeks and Undeclared, so I hope they give MST the same love. Definitely sounds promising so far!

So when can we start to wildly speculate on the episodes in the new set?
105 - The Corpse Vanishes 304 - Gamera Vs Barugon 704 - The Incredible Melting Man 1001 - Soultaker
For extras It will have episode K00 - The Green Slime, since it never aired it could be there, but it's more likely we'll see the MST Scrapbook. Footage from the 20th Anniversary discussion panel, new cast interviews. Audio commentary by Jim Mallon on every episode. I'm actually kidding about that last one. Why not add the commercials for each episode. The uncut movies would be good too.

I think there's been wild speculation for months now! Ha!
The Freaks And Geeks and Undeclared sets have left me quite chuffed with Shout Factory so the decision to go with them seems like it could be a very good one. And Joel's comment has made me quite excited indeed.
And I'll be sticking with Amazon purely because I know them and the business of importing can be a bit dodgy with customs. Amazon tend to have no worries and are quick to here. Plus thanks to everything being in $ these sets are actually quite cheap for me compared to the ones that come out here.

I will probably be getting mine from Deep Discount. They're cheap and I never had a problem with them getting sets to me.
