Plus, they have vol. 12 listed on backorder and I found that kind of strange because it is the most current release... The most current release from a company that no longer has the rights to the show. Rhino won't be making anymore copies so once a store/distributor runs out that is all she wrote.

Assuming 4 discs? My wishlist?
101 - The Crawling Eye 624 - Sampson vs. The Vampire Women 706 - Laserblast 1001 - Soultaker
The MST Scrapbook would make a great extra too.
I think Crawling Eye would be the only challenging one to get the rights for, but I'm optomistic Shout! could pull it off. Sampson v. The Vampire Women is actually the "filler" choice since the odds of getting Diablok are near zero. But this way we get the first CC ep, Frank's last episode, the last CC ep and the 10 year anniversary. Sounds like a winner to me and we FINALLY get a season 7 episode out!

I mean, Rhino still wants to make money on the DVDs that they DID produce and I can't imagine that their rights to those episodes would run out immediately... Again, maybe I'm wrong as well, but that seems a bit zany.

The lack of announced titles is sorta what makes me excited to pre-order it. Not because they just haven't announced it yet, but that I KNOW the reason for the lack of announcement is because they are all bound to be good.
I get the feeling we are in for a treat.

They could very well have the rights to the movies for another 5 years but their contract for the MST3K elements is/will be done. You can't get volume 9 or 10.2 on the Rhino site anymore. Deepdiscount doesn't have listings for Vol 9 or 11 and out of the 10 they do have 5 are out of stock including vol 12.

I don't know. That is wild if that's the case... and if that is the case then: RED ALERT TO THOSE WHO DON'T HAVE ALL THE RHINO SETS!

When will the Rhino contract end? Anyone know?

I think I should point out at this time that Wal-Mart usually carries Shout! Factory DVDs for a few weeks or so. I bought my Sonic the Hedgehog DVD set there and have seen many other Shout! titles on the shelves. Wal-Mart has not, to my knowledge, ever sold the Rhino MST3K DVDs. This is good news for me, since I get a 10% discount there!
This could help the show reach a wider audience.

When will the Rhino contract end? Anyone know? For the actual show it may already have run out. As for the movies maybe not. It kind of looks like what I expected in that you can still get the Rhino sets but they'll be winding up production. Plus if it's no longer their property they won't be promoting them so making more doesn't make sense.

Hilarious that they should pair that with a Rifftrax ad.

I'm pretty stoked about the Comic-Con panel being included.

That's what's gotten me excited, especially as I'll be on another friggin' continent when it's happening! Shout get their first thing right, second if you like the packaging.

The extras sound pretty nice (The "History of MST3k" featurette should be interesting, I wonder if it'll be a better version of the CC & SciFi specials). I figured that the Comic-Con stuff will be on there, and that'll be a nice treat for all of us who couldn't go!
