I haven’t watched an ep in a while and frankly I haven’t missed it. BUT – I heard Bryan Fuller was returning for an episode. He not only was one of the minds behind my favorite short lived show “Wonderfalls”, but he wrote some of the best Heroes eps from season 1, including Company Man. I don’t know what his involvement will be for the remainder of the year but man, they need to lock this guy down. This is the best episode in a long time. Crisp writing in quickly evident throughout. Hiro and Ando are hilarious and acting like friends again, Tracy is bad ass cool (and freaky) and the Matt Parkman/Daphne thing has never been written more real and heartfelt. There was tension, nice character development… If you’ve dropped this series as I did, go to NBCs site and watch Cold Snap, it’s a refreshing return to form for the show Couldn't agree more, MJ. I've been waiting to see what Fuller brought back to the table, and this week's episode just felt right. The pacing was so much better, and Daphne's swan song was quite moving - and unexpected. And I was on the edge of my seat as Tracey walked out to meet those guys in the garage. Yeah, I hope he sticks around. He makes a huge difference in the way the show looks and feels.

I've just been so busy on Monday nights that I haven't caught the last three (?) shows. The way the second half of this season was going, I wasn't really feeling too bad about missing them.
I always intended to watch them again online, but I was just saving them up for a while. Sounds like it might be a good time to go back.

I'm liking the tone they're using here to finish out the third season. I'm not wild about Angela's "here we go again with another version of the ultimate truth" bit, but I loved HRG vs. Sylar and Danko this week. Great mind games.

I liked the episode mentioned above quite a bit, but I haven't gone back to watching. I think I'll just wait until the end nears, and catch up with all the episodes.

Hmmm. Don't really like the Sylar as Nathan thing. I guess we'll see where they go with it. Poor Hiro is not having a good day.

I don't know, it just didn't grip me like some past finales have. Although I have to give them credit where its due: there's no way I saw that ending coming. I see a split personality battle between Nathan and Sylar coming next season. That could be interesting.
And it looks like Tracey is back, and perhaps on the hunt for the agents that gunned her down in the garage? At least I'm assuming that's Tracey.
I'll be back for the next season, for sure.

And now I am back for the new season Last night's premiere looked promising. I kind of liked the two-hour format, it let the current characters breathe a little bit and still gave us some time for the new people that were introduced. The carnival folk look like an interesting bunch, and it's nice to have a new antagonist other than The Company or the U.S. government. The show is obviously on thin ice this year. This will either be quite good or more of the same. Either way, it may not make a difference. But I liked it. A good jump-off point for the season. I'm watching again.

I've been working my way through the latter half of season 3, which I ended up skipping mainly because I was just so busy and tired last winter. I'll be watching this season's premiere as soon as that's done with.

A tattooed lady named Lydia? OH how ORIGINAL *say in Crow's sarcastic voice*.
The argument between Matt and Sylar when Matt was questioning that guy was pretty funny.

Good solid start! Buuuut I’ve felt that in the past only to be disappointed at the end. So I’m reserved,
I’ve heard people say that critical fans need to sit back, relax and simply enjoy the ride… and that would be fine if this was all about spandex and big battles - but it’s not and this ep illustrates that. It was mostly talk, character and twisted story line – the show invites scrutiny, though it often doesn’t hold up to that scrutiny. Personalities shift, winding plot lines end with a fizzle.
For example, they can’t seem to stay consistent with Tracy. She’s confident and calculated one moment, uncertain the next. With this season opener they set her up as a cold spirit of vengeance… but by the end of the episode she’s just a regular gal looking to be a help, and the vigilante storyline is dropped.
So, once again an intriguing set up. A mystery to unravel, we establish a direction for the story and the characters and I like the circus folk (that they named the tattooed lady, Lydia, cracked me up). BUT they’ve had great set ups in the past only to disappoint when they came down to the finishing line.
So, very good ep but I can’t get my hopes up just yet.

In general, I really liked the way the third season ended - it seemed like it really slumped in the middle, but picked up partway through Chapter Four. The one thing I didn't like was how they handled Matt remaking Sylar into Nathan - I dunno, that just struck me as a letdown after the briefly chilling return to Chapter 1's vision of Sylar as Nathan. Oh well. And what's up with Claire? It seemed like she suddenly appeared in the middle of the season looking almost like a different actress.
I thought the premiere was decent - like always anymore, they seem to just be throwing a giant bag of plot elements and characterizations into the show and hoping some of them work. Some of it is great, but its quality just so mixed. Like MJ said, personalities seem to shift at the whim of the writers. I'll watch, but I'm keeping my hopes in check.

I gave up on Claire quite a while ago. It seems like the writers just don't know what to do with her to keep her relevant to the show (more than most of the other characters), and they just keep throwing her into the same problems, just in different places.
I thought the new deaf character seemed promising, although with Matt Parkman's ex-wife, she practically makes the show a PAX-TV reunion.

Claire lost her edge when she normalized her relationship with Noah, but I really don't mind. If she wants to sit around and have awkward college moments, that's fine. They're doing a better job of spacing out the stories so far this season. We didn't hear from Hiro, Nathan, Angela, Tracey and Mohinder (if he's even still around), which left more time to develop the Sylar, Matt, Peter, Claire and Samuel angles. They'll have to keep doing this if they don't want to drown in characters.
The Matt/Sylar dynamic is fun, and probably some of the most interesting character interaction since the first season, but I keep seeing Head Six/Baltar from Battlestar Galactica and am reminded how well they did this kind of thing on that show. I'm liking this so far, though.
And yeah, I liked the deaf girl. The cello scene was beautiful in high definition.

I didn't mind the deaf girl, and it looked cool how the strings lit up during the cello scene. Who knew guitar hero was a super power
