Bump for a picture of two of my favorite comedic minds. Not sure where or when exactly Community will be back, but I do remember hearing that Yvette Nicole Brown is leaving the show and they're bringing in two new people. Will have to double-check that. In the meantime, here's a picture of good old Joel at Dan Harmon's wedding http://instagram.com/p/veJDGvg4On

I am finally catching up with this show and am totally in love with it. I even think season four has its rewards. You have to watch it more than once.

The third is Mitch Hurwitz, creator and writer of Arrested Development. I'd go so far as to say this is a picture of the three greatest TV comedy creators of the last 25 years. Looks like season 6 will be up on Yahoo soon, one episode at a time. So no binge watching, but new episodes are new episodes. I didn't miss Chevy Chase, and I don't think I'll miss Yvette. But Community without Donald Glover is like The Andy Griffith Show without Barney Fife. And NewMads, I agree that season 4 has it's high points. Some of it is better than parts of season 3 and a lot of season 5.

I must admit, I've never been a die-hard fan of Arrested Development, but I never really watched enough of it to judge properly, either. I'll say I'm neutral on it while also saying I respect it because of the universal high praise I've seen it receive from people I respect. I know Joel and Trace did a MST-related cameo on AD, though, correct? That's another endorsement I should trust, as well. I never would have identified Hurwitz. I also agree about Glover. He's the straw the stirs the drink, as Reggie Jackson said.

Someone stitched together a bunch of the incidental music, which I'm also quite enjoying. Lots and lots of keys and wild acoustic instrumentation (you'll hear a glockenspiel, i think, and strings and brass) hybridized with a rock combo. Reminds me of the old funky 70s TV music. i particularly like the hard rock crescendo around 3:20, and the string quartet interlude shortly after 8 minutes.
It's funny about season four, it's supposed to suck because Dan Harmon wasn't involved, but I think the credits list him as the show's creator and executive producer. Show creator--well, once you've created the show, you've created the show. "Executive producer" can mean a lot of things, but I think it usually just means when someone calls you about the show, you pick up the phone. I don't think he's a principal writer or anything, I could be wrong.
Anyway, I think season four feels even more esoteric than the first three seasons, but once you catch the wave of it, it's really very excellent. I'm just starting into season five now and I'm feeling Chevy Chase's absence kinda keenly. I'm just having trouble thinking of that replacement as a comedic actor. There's too much Mike from Breaking Bad in my head. But I didn't like s4 at first either, i probably just need to give it a couple whirls.
