I ended up paying $39.99 through Amazon for the "Deluxe Edition." Me thinks not too shabby. I really like to preorder through them.

Gamera is sitting at my front door! Here's hoping no little Japanese kids in short shorts and hats steal it before I get home.

I got mine yesterday. Unfirtunately I'm in no hurry to watch the episodes. I promised myself a long time ago I wouldn't watch all five Gamera episodes in a row ever again. Last few times I tried, I entered MigraineVille (population: me).
Immediately went through the special features though. Great docs!

Mine was delivered about an hour ago. I went the amazon pre-order route and paid $39.99 total. Not bad says I... Now I think I will spread Gamera out over the next couple of nights..

Watched a number of the featurettes last night, this is really a fantastic set!
Shout Factory has proven set after set why Rhino is nothing compared to the Shout treatment of the series.
For starters, Shout's uniform package design is simple, yet effective. Shadowrama, a starry background and the spaghetti ball logo is great no matter how many times they use it. The giant roman numerals and interior art is just enough to make each release unique enough, but still look like a part of a series. Much preferred to Rhino's all-over-the-place designs. Plus, the lobby poster art drawings have been getting better and better, and is a great way of tying the movie and MST3K together (much better than a blownup frame grab from a movie). From a packaging standpoint, I love how each movie has its own slimcase. Makes for easier access to individual discs, allows each episode to stand on its own and gives OCD nerds the ability to re-order the shout discs however they want (alphabetically, episode order, whatever).
Then theres the special features, always great and often produced especially for the release! Compare that to Rhino's often featureless volumes. The Gamera set especially does a great job at covering all the bases: MST3K crew interview, American SFX guys interview and Japanese monster expert interview. Then the wraps and the trailers. Great stuff.
Finally, I'm very happy with Shout's selection of episodes and ability to throw together some pretty cool themes (I liked the recent Monster/Devil volume and the Master Ninja double feature). Plus, we've yet to have Shout f*** up like Rhino did and have to pull a volume from the shelf after just releasing it. Shout definitely has a better legal team.
Am I reviewing this? Uh.... A+

A+ +1 on all of this. Also, Shout! is a private company so they don't have WEA to answer to. If anyone hasn't purchased yet, Best Buy has it for $40.99. It will ring up at $48.99 but they will (of course) price match their own website at $40.99.

Finished the set yesterday. In regards to the uphill battle of releasing such an idiosyncratic rights nightmare as MST3K this set stands as nothing less than a grand achievement. Kudos to Shout! for putting in so much blood, sweat, and tears into our little cow-town puppet show!

The set has been out of stock at Amazon since before Cyber Monday. Not "only XX left, order soon (more on the way)", nor the usual "we're pulling this because we can't pack it worth a damn and will soon put it back up" as before. Just out and out no longer in stock, so much the Amazon Marketplace goons are selling it for an inflated price now. I wonder what's up? Nothing, I hope.

Looks like Wal-Mart has it cheapest currently: www.walmart.com/ip/16621491And Shout! no longer has their postcards and has hiked the price up to $64.

So this is out of print now?
Or we just have to wait for a new version.
