Here's one of my all-time favorites. Just look at the cast. I've seen it a couple times and it just BEGS, I mean BEGS, for the mst3k treatment. us.imdb.com/title/tt0113376/I mean...Clint Howard, for crying out loud!

I just watched Bert I. Gordon's 1976 Food of the Gods on WAM! God, was this movie crying out for some riffing. Best line (and possible stinger): "Where did you get these goddamn chickens!"--Marjoe Gortner to Ida Lupino after being nearly dispatched by a giant cockamanie Rooster...

A lot of these movies SEEM like good choice but have you really thought about it. Will the gang on the SOL have enough to work with? In most cases yes. But most comedies won't work, it takes EXTREME hatred towards a movie to do that. Another big thing is will there be enough pauses? You don't want too much to work with. I've watched Eegah uncut (right before I watched the MST3K episode) and I could tell this was perfect MST3K episode. When I was doing my fanvid, I originally was going to do Plan 9 from Outer Space but there weren't enough pauses to get every sentence in and really many riffs, so I dumped that and went with Godzilla vs. Monster Zero. So next time when you suggest a MST3K episode think does it have enough dialouge? Does it have too much? Rather than the first bad movie off the top of your head. "Love God" doesn't have a lot of dialogue. It's more of a "drug hallucination" movie, like "Incredibly Strange Creatures...".

How's about 98% of the movies released in the last few years? I mean geez, are there any big budget movies made now that don't pander to the lowest denominator of the masses?

As much as I believe that most of the movies recently released are crappy (hasn’t that always been the case though?) I don’t think I would like to see a new, big budget movie Misted; I prefer the old Horror/Scifi movies they did.
Movies that I think would be great for the MST3K treatment would be The Giant Claw and Reptcilus. Two painfully bad giant monster movies.

Oh come on, how you not want to see Titanic riffed? Mike Nelson said that it would be perfect for MST, because, I quote, it's "so overblown and hammy".

I agree with ya, but to me it’s just a matter of personal preference. One of the things that I really love about MST3K are all the old monster movies (and old movies in general, but especially the old monster movies) that they featured. I think that it’s really a big part of the charm of the show. The Brains were able to take all those old forgotten movies and they made them fun, which is something those films failed to do in the first place. Of course, that’s just me.

Yeah, that makes sense. I'm not a fan of the movies, for the most part. I'm in it for the comedy alone, and if the movie is fun or goofy, then thats just more ammo.

Last Days of Planet Earth. A Japanese film about the upcoming apocalypse with some pretty goofy dubbing. From I've heard the original Japanese version is much better.

I think I saw this hilarious movie a few weeks ago on AMC. Is it the one that has the scene of all the kids on motorcycles riding over the cliff? If so, it would be perfect MST fodder.

Yep that's the one. For some reason when I saw that scene I started to sing the song "Can't Buy Me Love" because it reminded me of the scene in A Hard Day's Night when the Beatles are jumping up in the air in semi slow motion.

how about an anime? but which one? May I suggest something along the lines of Sonic the Hedgehog the Movie or the much hated dub of Nausica called Warriors of the Wind.
