Sweet! Thanks Mr. Atari. The secret is in the eyes, mostly... but beyond that, I've been religiously watching MST3k since 1990, so I've seen every episode at least 20 times each... It doesn't hurt that I'm an artist and I've drawn countless portraits... Now onto the newest pic... I'm going to stick to my "Two Guess Method" since I haven't been called on it, and it helps my chances. I'm pretty sure its Carolyn Kearney who played Jessica in "The Thing That Couldn't Die"... but I'm also going to guess it might be Claudia Barrett who played Alice in "Robot Monster," just to be safe... Heh, I guess I need to make a new rule here, which I'll adjust to this post. You can guess two people per posting. This isn't really a big deal in this example, but I'm not sure I want someone giving seventeen (or more!) answers to the question. "Yes! Number 112 of the 247 guesses you made in your posting means you got it!" But yes, you got it, sort of! #5 is Carolyn Kearney, who played Jessica (in her late twenties, amazingly enough) in The Thing That Couldn't Die. Your comment about being an artist is instructive. I think a lot of laypeople look at hair when they're doing recognition, which obviously doesn't help with a lot of these. For Mary Peach, as an example, her hair was completely different, but I had no qualms about using that picture because her distinctive eyes were still quite evident. So the score so far... #1-5 sirhamhat Let's go in the opposite direction for #6! EDIT in after identification as Chester Morris, from The She Creature:

Boy, no response in over 24 hours. #6 is still open! So the score so far... #1-5 sirhamhat Here's #7, the woman on the right: EDIT in after identification as Sandra Giles from Daddy-O:

Here's #7, the woman on the right: That one is too easy! Especially since Daddy-O is one of my absolute #1 favorites! That's actress Sandra Giles who played Jana Ryan in Daddy-O. I'm still trying to figure out #6. I have about 4 guess who it might be and I'm trying to narrow them down. Its easier to figure out when they're older, than when they are younger...

If anyone needs a clue for #6, you want to kill his character after watching the MST ep. he's in. I know you could say that about a lot of these characters, but he's one of the worst.

And yes, Plissken, that's not as much of a hint for #6 as it ought to be. Heck, he's not even the only one in the particular episode you could say that about. So the score so far: #1-5 sirhamhat #7 sirhamhat #6 is still out there, somewhere. Here's #8: Edit in after FINALLY[/i] being identified as John McKay from Rocket Attack USA!:

I'm actually wanting to change this a little bit. It won't affect the actual contest, but it might make it more interesting for people who are following the thread.
I'm thinking about posting a screencap of these actors from the MST3k'd films they were in after someone (sirhamhat) supplies the answer. (And if I can't find a pic of them from the actual film, one of them looking like they did at the time would suffice)
Do you think I should do this after the answer is supplied, or wait until the end of the contest?

hahaha! Continosbuckle, I like your line "...after someone (sirhamhat) supplies the answer. " Nice Well, you (everyone) are going to hate me, but I was completely struggling with #6--even with Plissken's clue. However, Saturday night just happens to be MST3k night in my house and as I was flipping through my collection to pick an episode to watch, I managed to figure it out... Yes, as serendipity would have it I am about 99.9% sure that is a much younger Chester Morris, who portrayed one of the greasiest characters in film history, Dr. Carlo Lombardi from "The She Creature." I'm disappointed it took me that long to figure it out, but better late than never. As for your latest picture, I think you might have stumped me on this one. I don't have a single guess, the face isn't very distinct and the image is a bit squished to get a good look. But, if no one else gets it soon, I'll throw out a couple of guesses. As for posting shots of them afterwards, I think that might be kind of neat. Thanks for the fun contest. I don't know if anyone else is enjoying it, but I'm having fun with it. As for me, I'm going back to watching MST3k (I'm about to watch 816-Prince of Space)... just wanted to sign on really quick to answer the question that had me baffled for so long.

I'm disappointed it took me that long to figure it out, but better late than never. Bingo! You've got #6 as well. That's Chester Morris in Alibi, for which, if you know your film history, he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor. I had a few pictures of him, and it was merely a question of whether I'd use one that had different hair from his performance as Carlo Lombardi, or if it managed to minimize his very distinctive nose. I went with the nose. So the score so far. #1-7 sirhamhat #8 is still available! Here's #9: EDIT in, after identification as Terri Treas from Deathstalker and the Warriors From Hell:

Alright... For #8, I'm going to throw out the only guess I have... I'm going to guess Ronald Allen who played Dr. Chris Mitchel in "The Projected Man."
As for #9... this is another easy one for me. That's the lovely (well, she was lovely in Deathstalker) Terri Treas who played Camisarde in "Deathstalker & the Warriors from Hell."

One more point for #9, but you're wrong on #8, so it's still available! It is amazing how much the eye makeup changes how Terri Treas looks in her photo there and how she looks in Deathstalker. I'd include a photo of her from the latter film, but I'm still debating on posting them during the contest or after the contest... okay, so the hassle of finding photos and uploading them onto my own account is the biggest issue at the moment, but alas. Score so far: 1-7 sirhamhat 9 sirhamhat #8 is still available. Here's #10 EDIT in after identification as Brett Halsey, from The Girl In Lover's Lane and Revenge of the Creature:

He's in two movies. That gives sirhamhat something like a 1/2 percent chance higher of getting it right on a guess. ;D

this thread has caused me to rethink everything i ever knew about facial recognition, which apparently isn't very much. i just stare and stare and get nothing. clearly i've been looking at everyone's boobs my whole life.
have i ever done a nosequiz on this board? i should volunteer to do a contest so i can inflict a nosequiz on all of you.

Wow, so no guesses at all for #10 so far. That leaves #8 and #10 still available. Score so far: 1-7, 9 - sirhamhat Here's #11: EDIT after identification as Crash Corrigan in "Undersea Kingdom", also including a big grin and goofy-looking headgear:

I KNOW #10! I KNOW #10!
Should I break sirhamhat's reign of terror quest for perfection?
Yes. I shall.
It's the one and only Big Stupid from The Girl In Lovers Lane, Brett Halsey.

Here's the other one. The fact that it's addressed to Steve is just too perfect.
