Btw, it is a monthly contest and from what I've been told, they're supposed to be wrapped up a few days before the end of the month, so I don't know if this has been wrapped up "so soon." I would have loved to have gone another week.
And I'll make some pic dumps here.
One of the reasons why I came up with this contest is because I'd often wonder, after watching an episode, just what ended up happening to some of the actors in the film. Did they go on to great things? Did they retire? Did they have a long career of unnoteworthy movies? Did they die?
So I'd often go online and look for photographs of some of the actors who had appeared. Some looked remarkably like they did in the old movies, some didn't, and some I couldn't find at all. Some were pretty striking, something I'd like to share if I had the opportunity, and thus I came up with the idea for this contest.
Anyway, most of the pics I didn't use fell within certain categories:
I wanted to find someone from one of the Japanese movies, but unfortunately, most of them either were too obvious, or I couldn't figure out if the pictures I found were actually of the actor I was looking for, which got frustrating very quickly. Sonny Chiba, for instance, is a great example:

And unfortunately, the one guy I found who was less famous overall, came from another Season 8 episode:

Sadly, I realized that after 21 actors, 7 of them were from Season 8 episodes and that I couldn't possibly use another one.
A similar problem came with using two actors from the same film. That disqualified Joyce Meadows from
The Girl In Lover's Lane:
And Monica Davis from
Rocket Attack USA:
Even if I had used her, I couldn't use that picture, because it would've been from the same source as where I found her costar, John McKay, so I found this pic of her:
Yes, I cut that photo because she's naked. You're welcome. It was from a film where she played the ring leader of a suburban spouse-swapping gang. Here she is in the MST3k episode:
That last non-MST3k photo came from a source that was very helpful if fairly tedious, which is online videos of the various performers from their other performances. That's where I got Virginia Aldridge's photo (that's her in an episode of "The Alfred Hitchcock Hour", where she appeared in the same episode as the old stalwart, John Carradine).
I also got Coleman Francis' photo in this manner, and George Mather's photo. I watched
a hell of a lot of mediocre and/or weird television or film for this contest.
There's one that I did discover I didn't use, but I feel I have to share anyway. I went to Coleman Francis' IMDb entry to determine he'd been in an episode of Broderick Crawford's "Highway Patrol". I was able to find the episode online and watched it in order to find Coleman. Well, I did, and sadly, it wouldn't have worked, because he simply looked
exactly as he did in his movies, for the most part, at least:
So I went back to the IMDb to see what else there was, but I left the video running. I heard over the audio a voice that I recognized and sure enough, it was this guy:
That's William Boyett, from "Last Clear Chance"! If the two of them had been in the same scene, I didn't care. I would've used it in this contest even though it was obvious to anyone. Sadly, since Coleman was a nameless henchman (who was hilariously described, along with the other guy in that photo as "in their 20s"), the B squad picked him up so he never appeared with Boyett. Btw, Francis ratfinked his bosses immediately upon being captured.
Speaking of Coleman actors, and forcing myself to watch trash in order to find that fleeting moment of an actor from MST3k, I watched every free clip of
Mako: The Jaws of Death that I could find, in vain, just so I could find a shot of this woman:

Skydivers and
Beast of Yucca Flats.
The first picture is from the movie
Impulse, where she's just about to be strangled by William Shatner. I figured quite a few people here would be familiar with that movie, so I decided not to use it. If you haven't seen that opening scene on YouTube, by all means, go watch it. It's a reprise of her Suzy role, ten to fifteen years later. It's hilarious.
I also found this picture of Harold Saunders, who played Cook in
Red Zone Cuba and the FAA inspector in
The Skydivers, from his appearance in
Stakeout on Dope Street:
One other picture I have from an old television show is Carolyn Kearney, in "Lassie":
That's her last ever appearance in television or film, in 1970. I debated using this one instead of the one I did use but ended up using the one I did because she was so much older, and her hair had completely changed color in the meantime. You tell me which was harder to recognize.
Another who violated the "no two actors from the same movie" is Norman Wooland,
from
Projected Man:
He's the guy in the middle with most of his face "covered with fur"!
Of course, some were too obvious:
Also, you may not realize, due to it being too vague a picture, that the guy with El Santo is Jorge Rivero, who was in
Werewolf:
Again, too obvious.
And then I had one that fit multiple categories:
I was originally checking this episode of "Beverly Hillbillies" for the appearance of Sirry Steffen, who would later play the female lead in
The Crawling Hand. Sadly, with the exception of that big black wig, she looked just like she did in the MST3k movie.
But the amazing thing, which would have led me to use that photo, is the other woman.
I know that's Nancy Kulp, who played Mr. Drysdale's spinster assistant, but watching her and listening to her, I was seized with the conviction that she played the mother in "Is This Love?"
Sadly, it was not to be, because while they may look similar and certainly sound alike, I couldn't get any indication anywhere just who the woman was who played the mother in that short. FWIW, I don't think it was Kulp, but boy, did I try to find that out for sure, because if I had, I might have been able to pull off a three person shot:
As that's Kulp, Steffen and Raymond Bailey, who played Doctor Wahrman in
The Space Children. As it was, the two simply wouldn't do, especially since Bailey isn't exactly a mystery to anyone with vague familiarity with "The Beverly Hillbillies".
Finally, here's one of Peggy Webber also from

Screaming Skull, taken from a Tom Weaver book, so I figured she'd be pretty obvious to anyone who even bothered to look:
