The choice is excellent. Twilight would have been a snooze.

I personally think this will be more fun. I love the movie but much can be made fun of. Count me in.

I'm glad they opened relations with Sony. Maybe there's a chance they could do the 1998 American Godzilla. I'd love to see them rip apart that turd. That would depend on whether or not they'd have to negotiate with Toho over the Godzilla brand name or not. They might have a say in that. But it would be hilarious if that was their live show next year, given that Legendary's Godzilla movie will hit that summer. Starship Troopers in an interesting choice. Not sure how I feel because it's very tongue in cheek (now if they wanted a Sony owned Paul Verhoeven film that's riffable, I'd probably be aiming for Hollow Man). I'm curious about the content though, since this is a very gory, breast filled hard R movie. That's more than they usually have in their live shows (Manos had the nightie fight, Birdemic had underwear and fakey gore), so I'm wondering if they'll edit it down for a family audience or leave it in all of it's hardcore glory. I'd be rooting for the latter, myself. I'm also wondering if these new relations between Rifftrax and Sony could lead to open relations between Sony and Shout. Could we see 12 to the Moon on DVD? I'd buy it!

The choice is excellent. Twilight would have been a snooze. I would have preferred Twilight. I can just picture a full Theater that's half Rifftrax or MST fans and half Twilight fans. That would have been cool. I've never seen Starship Troopers.

I'm having thoughts of trying to make the live riff in Nashville. Anyone else?

I don't mind if they weren't able to do Twilight, but this other choice is still good. I've never seen Starship Troopers either, but from what I gather it ought to be great riffing material.
Won't be able to see it live in person, but I'll probably try to get tickets for the nearest "Fathom Events" showing when they become available. It'll also be the first RiffTrax Live I've ever been to, so I hope to have lots of fun.

I'll likely end up with Fathom too. I've made every single one so far and they've all been worth the effort.

Starship Troopers in an interesting choice. Not sure how I feel because it's very tongue in cheek I haven't seen Starship Troopers, but I have the same thought. How will it work when it's already kinda satirical? I'm still going as long as it's in a theater near me.

I'm going to try my best to work it out to attend this one in Nashville. Anyone else here hoping to go?

I haven't seen Starship Troopers, but I have the same thought. How will it work when it's already kinda satirical? It's a failed satire, though, so maybe it kind of evens out.

I got tickets! Now to figure out how to get there (long drive vs. short flight). I don't see seats assigned. Is the show general admission?

I'd buy it! From Rifftrax FB page: Some of you have asked (and many we're sure are just understandably curious) if we're doing an edited version of Starship Troopers. We are not. The standard R-rated version is the only one Sony makes available for licensing. For those trying to make a determination about whether or not to bring younger or more sensitive viewers, some information about content may help: there are two moments of nudity in the film and a great deal of excessive, one might even say, cartoonish violence (this is Paul Verhoeven, after all!). We believe the three of us up there adding our commentary undercuts the impact of the material quite a bit. But we will also take special care to comedically mute those few moments that earns it its R, and creatively make it as PG-13 as possible. We hope this helps, and once again offer our sincere thanks for your support!
