I'm sort of torn on the watch-it-first issue. On the one hand, if you've seen it first you can perhaps enjoy the riffing experience more. But I like surprises in big packages, so going in cold means the other hand ( ) can slap you silly while you're watching. I'm kinda torn too, but I find that when it comes to anything 1980's on up, I kinda get annoyed at the riffing because I'm trying to follow the movie (as with Psycho II). Although the second time around, I'm able to enjoy the riffing a lot more because I'm not trying to keep up with the story too. Unfortunately with Starship Troopers, it doesn't look like you'll get a second chance.

I haven't seen the movie either, I'm going at it dry run. I don't really care about following the film.

The Belcourt around 11am this morning. 11 hour trip (damn you time zones!) to get here.

I enjoy the movie, as it has a lot in common with Paul Verhoven's own masterpiece Robocop yet is done with new ideas and satire targets. That's basically my own reservations about this, that the movie will be too tongue in cheek (Twilight would have been a far better choice), but hopefully the absurd giant bug action will make up for that.
Was going to go tonight with a group of friends, but almost everyone dropped out because stuff came up. But I'm definitely going so they can eat my dust.

So whatever happened to that ferret? Glaring plot hole.

And was Jake Busey's violin actually destroyed?

Damn they did better with that movie than I thought they would. And finally seeing Starship Troopers on the big screen (unconventionally, but still) didn't disappoint.
First time I've actually made a theatrical showing and yowzah was that theater packed. Managers said they were sold out! Well done Rifftrax, raking in the dough and providing excelent theater environment. Huzzah!

Rico! Polo!
Damn, Denise Richards took some hits, but really no more then anybody else. My only regret is this one apparently won't be out on DVD.
Oh, Diz, I'll never forget how I settled for you.

The show was really fun. It really worked and the crowd was into it. David Cronenberg's A Bug's Life. You're it until you're dead or I find someone better. And Sue Ellen Mishke!

The Boulder theater was packed. I thought the gorilla grams were a dumb but fun way to avoid the nudity. I was just hoping for a Bobo reference at some point.
The "Space Gymkata!" riffs were my favorite, but the "wedding vows" riff brought down the house.
Since they're both awesome guys and friends of Rifftrax, I was holding out hope for a Clancy Brown or Neil Patrick Harris cameo. Maybe they were the ones in the gorilla suits.

The show really was fun. Our theater was also packed, which was good. Planning on going to the Halloween show "Night Of The Living Dead" as well.

Yes! That should be fun. Didn't they also say there would be a replay of the Starship Troopers show in Sept? Or did I dream that card in the pre-show slides?

They did say it would be replayed in September in select theaters, I think.
