Wow--pretty shocked they didn't use this in the Kickstarter. Love this, though. I'd kind of given up hope on this happening when it wasn't mentioned during the KS.

this is such amazing news.
Seems like a lot of the die hards are big on Trace as Crow but Bill was my fav of the two from the classic series.

Yes, this just gets better and better, I get a Gamera movie, and Joel, Josh, and Bill riffing together!
Interesting that Emily's last name is going from Crenshaw during the tour, to Conner... which is better (Crenshaw is funny, but Sarah Conner is a stronger, more heroic figure)
Thanks for sharing that.

Trace is the one true Crow to me, but all the other Crows are quite good and Bill did a lovely job in his era. I assume they weren't able to finalize a deal with Bill during the KS despite the rumors, hence it only coming up now.

Maybe at the time it wasn’t certain yet. Joel wouldn’t exactly be endearing people if he was making a promise that he couldn’t guarantee. I mean this is the first news saying that Bill Corbett will even be involved, had Joel known for sure, then I’m sure it would have been mentioned in Werewolf stream. Well either way I’m happy to hear this!

The podcast with Jonah was recorded while the Kickstarter was in progress. I too find it odd that this wouldn't have been mentioned when Josh and Bill were on their respective livestreams, or during the last push or telethon in order to boost donations.
I'm not saying I don't believe Jonah, I think what he said was true, as far as he knew, at the time he said it. I'm not sure if it's *still* true today. For the sake of the fans, I hope it is.

I'm getting more and more curious about this multiple bot idea. It seems to me that now that there are three sets, that kinda points to the idea that the bots from the Netflix episodes aren't the original bots. Are they replicas that Kinga made? It's kind of a fun idea to play with.
That also makes me wonder if Joel's bots will be the original Servo and Crow. It's kind of a neat premise if they're heading in that direction.

I like to think of them like the X-Men character Multiple Man. When he makes a duplicate, it starts off as an exact copy, but the longer it’s separate from the prime Multiple Man, the more distinct it becomes. Of course, that raises the question if Kevin’s Tom is a direct continuation of Josh’s Tom, or the first instance of a permutation. Given the fact that Crow doesn’t recognize Mike in Revenge of the Creature, I think it seems likely Bill’s Crow and Trace’s Crow are distinct characters. But as always, it’s just a show and I don’t really care. It’s just fun to think about.

I do wonder about the timing as well. Is it possible Corbett’s return was confirmed after the livestream, but before this podcast was recorded? But it does seem odd that they wouldn’t have mentioned it during the marathon.

I've got to think a big deal podcast like that would fact check things before going or at least give a guest a chance to walk something back or have it removed were they to realize it wasn't accurate.

Could simply be that Jonah was mistaken that it was already a done deal.. It does confirm the intent was there. Or perhaps Joel was gonna announce it if they needed an extra push to make the final goals.. the money rolled in regardless so Joel didn't have to announce it and could save the surprise for later when folks who didn't donate to the kickstarter can sign up for the gizmoplex.

But as always, it’s just a show and I don’t really care. It’s just fun to think about. Trace's Crow and Bill's Crow are separated by about 700 years or so. I attributed my "It's Just A Show" headcannon to Crow becoming more jaded with age. Servo's character mostly stayed the same between Josh and Kevin, he just seemed to mature as the seasons progressed, while Josh's Servo was kind of a child (like all the bots were back then), and Kevin's Servo started at that point and just kinda grew out of it. The bots from the new series never really had an origin or a link to the original series. Now there are a whole lot of copies and it's fun to think about what exactly they're doing with them. Or maybe there will be just no explanation again, because it's just a show... BUT what if full-on Battlestar Galactica! "There are many copies. And they have a plan."

It's kind of a fun idea to play with. That also makes me wonder if Joel's bots will be the original Servo and Crow. It's kind of a neat premise if they're heading in that direction. They played with this concept in Reptilicus. Segment Three: Crow takes Tom's arm and uses it to regenerate Tom several times. Genetic mutations appear almost immediately with "Melodramatic Southern Belle Servo" and "Evil Servo" making an appearance. Crow calls all the duplicate Servos back, but one of the copies is the one that stays behind. Also remember that there is a timeline where Crow stayed at the cheese factory and worked there. (time chasers) I also vaguely remember that Joel confirmed that the sci fi era bots were specifically not the same bots as the netflix era... they were still with mike in the grander storyline. He also toyed with the idea that what we saw at the end of Season 10 wasn't all it seemed to be.. I think the quote was something like 'I am not sure that mike and those bots were really on earth in an apartment together' kind of alluding to them actually still being trapped in the experiment. With Joel Robinson coming back and Josh and Bill coming back I would love for them to continue on with that meta narrative.. all the old test subjects never really escaped..

If that’s the case, I kinda hope that Joel’s Gypsy (Calling her GPC is still weird to me) has a more old school voice, I mean I know she wouldn’t be played by Jim Mallon but it would be a really cool throw back to, maybe Patrick Brantseg could....I dunno, but the possibilities of this extended beyond Crow and Tom Servo!
