Okay I wasn’t aware the blu-ray was OOP as well. I had figured it getting axed had something to do with Jeff finding out and not being happy with it. I understand this is all under MGM.

Yeah, don't think Squirm was a huge seller for Shout. Chances are that Vinegar Syndrome will pick it up for a 4K release like Melting Man and Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2.

I wonder if Toho will be fine with Shout Factory giving the two Godzilla episodes DVD releases... separately, of course. Because as far as I know, Toho wasn't really too peeved with Godzilla vs. Megalon and Ebirah, Horror From The Deep getting the MST3K treatment for the last two episodes of Season 2, and the only legal action they took against the episodes (well, one of them, at least) was when Rhino Entertainment's MST3K Collection: Volume 10 came out (which is now a very expensive collector's item on Amazon, by the way). Plus, Godzilla vs. Megalon is 50 years old now, so Shout & Toho should agree to give the episode some recognition.

To be fair, Toho weren’t even aware that those two flicks were mocked on the show. Megalon (for a long time) had an assumed public domain status so that was very likely how the rights were even obtained, and Sea Monster came through an FVI deal. They might not personally be pissed (far as I know) that Godzilla was mocked, but I doubt they were happy that the movies were even used on the show without their acknowledgment at all.

Oh, that's right - Toho was too busy working on Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah during that time (as Godzilla's Heisei Era run & MST3K's worldwide cable TV run both began in the '80s, though in the instance of the latter it was '89 - the same year Godzilla vs. Biollante released in Japan).

Plus they were trying to get the American film off the ground for a while too. They didn't really crack down on all the VHSs/DVDs being made under their noses until Emmerich's film dropped in theaters and disappointed em.

416 - Fire Maidens from Outer Space 905 - The Deadly Bees 906 - The Space Children Olive Films (licensed from Paramount). I've heard from different sources that Olive has 5-year deals with Paramount on their catalog titles (for example, THE DEADLY BEES is set to expire in 2020). The other two titles should be expiring soon or have already expired., which should be expired or expiring soon. Assuming Olive films doesn't renew their license with Paramount, this would clear the way for Shout Factory to obtain them for a future MST3k box set. <LIKELY>
Not sure exactly when this happened officially, a post on blu-ray forum on July 2nd noted it.
Hopefully Shout can crank out one more set.

Oh boy….. a shame to see them go, but sadly it was only a matter of time at this point. Honestly I’m 99% convinced now Shout just lost interest in releasing anymore “available” episodes on DVD. Nothing can convince me otherwise.

What's left to release? You've got the Olive/Paramount titles, the Toho titles, the Susan Hart titles and Rocketship X-M.
We know about Shout's efforts with Hart and Toho's unwillingness to play ball. We don't know about Wade Williams and his estate.
All Shout has to worry about is keeping stuff in print and (eventually) releasing Season 13 and beyond.

HUZZAH! Another titan falls. Well here's hoping Shout is already on top of this and we get them in a set with Delta Knights

As of right now, there's a very good chance with Olive now defunct and the rights for Delta Knights secured, Shout COULD put out a Volume 40 with the last four titles that CAN be released. You then go from 11 titles to 7. 416 - Fire Maidens from Outer Space 905 - The Deadly Bees 906 - The Space Children 913 - Quest of the Delta Knights Multiple times over the years in times past there were releases that came out with movies people SWORE would never see an official release, now look at where we are. Just because it's been about 5 years since the last volume release doesn't mean they shouldn't release something if they can.

Even if Olive shut down, who’s to say ANOTHER company didn’t get those three movies from Paramount? I feel that’s being overlooked right now.

Realistically, I don’t see Shout getting out of bed for another release of four movies only. Could be wrong, but I don’t see it.
Now, if the AIP movies got dislodged by a twist of fate…

Oh, nice! I have the Film Movement disc of The Bat and it's not bad at all.
Here's hoping for good news on the Rocketship X-M front.
