Not one good television show still being produced on TV today. Maybe a couple of dramas on the networks, but there are absolutely NO good comedies on TV today.
These are my favorite show (please take note I am only 15 although pretty mature, just like Josh Weinstein)
1) Family Guy- MST3K can only do so much with making fun of bad B-Movies, in Family Guy you can go from a dog masturbating to a bunch of TV Parodies. It is a great solid show and hopefully Seth MacFarlane's new show (American Dad) can bring some of that zest back.
2) MST3K- Obviously it would have to be in the top two. But the is quickly giving 'Family Guy' a bigger challenge for every episode I see. I have only seen about 20 where I have gotten the jokes (I've probably seen 100 when I was younger).
3) All in the Family- Archie Bunker, best TV character ever! Racism, generation gaps, your average man, etc. The parts I loved the most was when Meathead was seemingly liberal at everything except Women's Lib and sided with Archie in some cases. Classic and only bleh in last season.
3) The Larry Sanders Show- This show never "Jumped the Shark" great inside humor. I love the characters and guest apperances.
5) Dick Van Dyke Show- Timeless, much like MST3K. I still is funny, I loved watching it late at night in the summer.
6) Newsradio- Phil Hartman was smart, Phil Hartman unlike many other SNL cast members knew he wasn't that star, that he need someone else or an esamble. I loved Kids in the Hall and Dave Foley was great here. Really good show.
7) Married...with Children- Before Roseanne, The Simpsons and the other dysfuctional family sitcoms there was this show.
8) Monty Python’s Flying Circus- It's...probably the greatest variety show ever.
9) Saturday Night Live- 1976 (after Chevy Chase left) until 1979 were the greatest years of TV. It was the only solid cast they ever had, usually there was a weak link but they did it will in that era. Then of course you'll get you Eddie Murphys, Joe Piscipos, Hartmans, Carveys, Millers, Farleys, Chris Rocks, Norm McDonalds (and some others). Although now it is a turdburger.
10) The Bob Newhart Show- I use to watch this over the summer too and it was great. Always funny, Bob Newhart played his role great.
Honorable Mention:
WKRP in Cincinnati (Only seen a handful of episodes, apperantly Newsradio before Newsradio)
Simpsons (First seasons were great but have gone downhill in the last few years)
South Park (The show should have climaxed with the movie but after the movie it ran out of steam)
Beavis and Butthead (So relevant to me today, I say show reruns with or without the music videos)
Barney Miller (Another show I watched in the summer, damn my school to hell)
Other Mention
The History Channel (most programming on this network was and still is good)
AMC (good idea but it is now being ruined by commericals, but gotta make money some how. I really think they should pick up MST3K)
Football (even thought Monday Night Football has been a stinkburger over some years I like the football not the announcing)
Wrestling (no I don't live in Kentucky, I don't frow a mullet. It always had it's inexplicable charm when it was good, but now I don't even watch it. Also J&TB or M&TB have made some comments about Minnesota wrestling so I'm not dumb for liking it [there are other reasons for that
])
Need to See (again in most cases):
Fawlty Towers (Probably would get the DVD set I would buy right away but need to see more MST3K and get Ric Flair DVD on 18th. I have seen it once or twice when I was young but didn't get it.)
Maybe later the worst TV Shows ever
