I new a guy who refused to read Harry Potter because it was too popular. Then he read the first book, and yelled at himself for not doing it sooner, because he felt he had to buy all five of them at once. What a strange, crazy, fiscally-offkilter fellow he was. Speaking of Mafia movies: anyone like The Lemondrop Kid? It's a Christmas mafia movie! Starring Bob Hope! I love it. It's set in the same mafia Universe as the one seen in Guys and Dolls (both written by the same guy.) Yes, Affy. I liked the Lemondrop Kid. Bob Hope trying to be a "tough guy" is always a hoot. I checked into this thread because I had never seen Harry Potter films until this week. Now I'm in a Potter-thon and am floored by all that's there. And I was with a group last night and everyone had seen the films AND read the books. I knew I was out of touch with the world but hadn't realized just how popular the series is. They all said the books have so much more than the movies...and I think the movies are awesome.

Yes, the books have more. Not a mind-shatteringly, unimagineable amount more of course, but lots of little bits and pieces to help fill in the gaps.

'The Passion of the Christ'
Never seen it, never want to see it. For me Jesus' ministry and his resurrection is what is important for me, not how he was tortued.
