Well, that was about as great as a live sporting event can ever get. Here was our view from Row 10 in the left field bleachers: Here's the crowd going nuts after Holliday's 3-run homer in the 4th (you can see the fireworks' smoke): Here's me not really believing I got a ticket to the game: Here's the Rockies storming the field after the last out, and the loser Diamondback pitchers walking across the field like the poor losers they are. Heh heh, losers. [/bitter Cub fan] And, finally, the scoreboard and the fireworks at the end:

I live in Ohio, not Cleveland, but Columbus. I wore my Boston shirt to work today (not Red Sox, just "Boston"), didn't even occur to me that I would get grief for it, but I have.

Hello fellow Columbus resident... you should get grief for that. Might as well have said "Michigan" on the front of your shirt. ;D Go Tribe!!

Barry Goldwater had a great idea in one of his 1964 ads... saw off the Northern Seaboard of the United States.
I hate Boston and their $180 million payroll.
Yes, I'm a sore loser. Screw you Red Sox.
COME ON TRIBE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

COME ON TRIBE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's not their payroll that bugs me. It's the newfound sense of entitlement from their fan base and nationwide bandwagon-jumpers. Like the Cowboys fans of old or the Patriot fans of the present. They're the new frat-boy chic, and in many ways have become the Yankees to the rest of baseball fandom.

I know I sounded completely irrational... but I want the Wahoo's to come through so badly.. seeing CC and Fausto just be completely masterful this season, it's breaking my heart to see them faulter like this. Game 7 awaits... Come on Jake.

I'll be pulling for the Indians tomorrow, as well.
But if the Sox win, they're going to run smack into the Colorado Steamrollers Rockies. And it'll be a beautiful thing.

I can live with losing to the Indians should it happen. Interesting that you compare Pats fans to Yankees fans though, considering the differences inherent.

I should have added a "Dave Walker Disclaimer" to my comments. Of course, I have no problem with fans like you who have lifelong loyalties and can be cool about the winning. But it must stink to have your team become the "image" team non-fans cheer for because it's trendy. Kinda like when your favorite band gets a number one hit, and now all their shows are overrun by teenage girls. Of course, it doesn't help to have ESPN personalities like Bill Simmons and Tony Kornheiser who think the sports world begins and ends in New England. Could you imagine if it was the Sox who had won 21 of 22? The bosses in Bristol would wet themselves and wouldn't report anything except the Red Sox for a month. Oh wait, they do that already...

Nobody is forcing people to read Simmons, or watch ESPN, when the "East Coast Bias" that I hear so much about allegedly comes into play.
But yes, the "image" team thing sucks. You should know - what with the Rockies presently and your Broncos of the late 90s.

But I don't know of anyone outside of Colorado that has been tracking with the Rockies at all. The most common thing I've heard about the team is, "I can't name any of their players." They're a novelty at best to most of the country. Back to the actual games...it's the top of the 7th and the Red Sox are winning 3-2, but Kenny Lofton is on second with one out. This should be a great finish.
