Back to the actual games...it's the top of the 7th and the Red Sox are winning 3-2, but Kenny Lofton is on second with one out. This should be a great finish. More like an f-ing nightmare. Oops. When I wrote that, it was still exciting. How do you not send Lofton home on that play? Here's hoping for a fun and memorable World Series.

I knew what you meant. I felt like that, not sending Lofton, completely sucked the air out of the balloon for the Tribe.
I'm not making excuses, but who knows what happens if Lofton scores (and he would have). I don't think Blake's head is in the clouds and maybe (hopefully) doesn't make that error at 3rd in the bottom of the 7th.
What if, what if, what if. The Red Sox are a great team, but I do not tip my cap. In my honest opinion, they are just too damn cocky for their own good. And they are about to run into a buzzsaw.

Why just focus on Lofton not running? What about his slide into second that was incorrectly called out and his lack of argument with the call? What about the collision between Blake and whatshisname? What about Wedge sticking with Bentacourt for too long, nevermind Westbrook? It was not postseason quality playing from the Indians.
As an actual New Englander, I can honestly say that the better team won and that the Rockies are going down in six.

Boston is having it too good these days. In between the Patriots dominating the NFL, the Celtics looking like they might be a favorite for the NBA title and now the Red Sox going to the World Series... ugh. I hope the Rockies win. Besides the fact I loathe Boston as a sports town, I don't want to have to take another year of insufferable Sox fans telling everyone that they won the World Series like a few years ago. Matt

I'm backing the Rockies. The Red Sox were more interesting as a perennial also-ran, but now that they're dominant they're annoying. Plus, I'm still bitter David Ortiz ends up hitting that much better for Boston than he did for the Twins. Then he gripes about the Twins' playing style. Get bent, Ortiz.
Still, the Rockies are still the hottest team in baseball, but they've also had a week-long off from playing because they trounce everyone. As they've said, something has to give.

After a quick perusal of online and television sports "experts", it appears approximately 2% of them are giving the Rockies a chance.
All the more reason why I'm cheering for the underdog.
21 out of 22 is impressive, but even more impressive when you remember that if they had only won 20 out of 22, they wouldn't have made the playoffs.
The only reason I can think of why people aren't giving the Rockies a chance is that they haven't watched them play. Am I scared of Beckett? Absolutely. But remember that the Rockies beat Jake Peavy & came back from 2 down against Trevor Hoffman in the play-in game. And they beat Brandon Webb. Am I scared of Ortiz and Ramirez? Sure. But remember that the Rockies pitching absolutely shut down Howard, Rollins, and Utley in the NLDS (15 strikeouts in 3 games). Guess which left-hander has the most wins in the last 2 years? Jeff Francis. Guess which team has the best ERA in baseball since May 1? Guess which team had the best defense in baseball history this year? Last time I checked pitching and defense win championships.
Of course, no one is remembering this. It's all Boston all the time. Too bad.
And what I'm really hoping for is a Manny home run pose when the Sox are down by 5 again. Followed by Ubaldo Jiminez putting a 99 MPH heater in his ear hole in the next AB.
Sorry, Dave Walker. I like you, but the Red Sox need to lose this series, and they should.

The more lightly the Rockies are taken by the Sox, the better. So let's hope that's what's going to happen.

Actually, I think this will make the most exciting World Series in awhile. The low-market Rockies team against the giants.
Almost gives me hope for the Royals.

I had a weird dream last-night about the Royals making the World Series and I was trying to find a seat for the game. Don't think that will happen anytime soon.

Oops.
Can someone hit the restart button?
Maybe I should change my personal text to "Please go back to ignoring us."
Oh well. It's a long series.
(I hope.)

I don't think Rockies fans should be down after losing game 1. You had to figure Beckett would beat you, just like you have to figure he'll probably beat you one more time. Without Beckett though---and as long as the Rockies don't wait until Papelbon time to take a lead---Boston is very beatable. Plus, maybe the fact that they got so very spanked won't sit well with them.
Personally, although I love Manny Ramirez (even despite his one man pose-off after the meaningless home run while his team was getting crushed) and think he's the best right-handed hitter in baseball, I'm for Colorado now. For no good reason, though. Either because I used to like Larry Walker or because Colorado throws decent riots after they win stuff.
