Just to piss off some more people, Pod People's one my least favorite episodes! ;D Now that I think about it, I like it even less than The Touch Of Satan! Edit: Just to clarify, I'm making fun of the fact that this guy is complaining about my choices, when the thread will obviously have some opinions you disagree with. You can't accomplish anything by complaining about someone else's opinions.

It is fine that you do not like Pod People, it just means that you have no taste, just kidding! See relax & just see what people have to say. Heck sometimes I like to read what people think of mine & other people's list too.

In a thread of much disagreement, I feel compelled to post the ultimate disagreement...
Anybody who doesn't love every episode of MST3K has no right to consider themselves a MSTie!*
Ha, take that!
*Actually, this isn't my opinion at all. I couldn't stand Red Zone Cuba, myself.

I liked the riffs, but the movie was just terrible.

Besides season zero, I'll also leave off season one episodes. The Unearthly - It amazes me that the MST version of this film is shorter than many others, because it feels much, much longer than most episodes. I don't care if they show four awesome shorts first, this movie never should have been chosen, IMO. A few light chuckles (at most) are all the riffing on this movie brings out of me. I can honestly say that most days, I'd rather watch any KTMA episode, Hamlet, Batwoman, or Alien from LA three times in a row than sit through this once. It's as if this movie never fails to drain me of all my energy! Catalina Caper - There are exactly three things that I enjoy about this entire episode, and only one of them is an actual riff! I think it was Crow who said "when ESPN merges with the Playboy channel..." I love that riff! I think Little Richard is funny all on his own & I also really like the creepy girl song. But that's where the fun ends for me. I find every frame of this film & just about every riff to be very lame. Monster A-Go Go - I don't understand how someone can dislike Red Zone Cuba, but love this episode. At least in Red Zone Cuba there were things happening (albeit horrible, incomprehensible things). Personally, I've loved RZC ever since my second viewing of it. And every year or so, I'll keep giving MAGG yet another shot, but I doubt I'll ever like it. Although, I have to give the Best Brains credit for tackling this. And they did think of a few hilarious lines. But I just don't think it's humanly possible to save this one. The Sidehackers - I'm in the minority here, but the more I watch this episode, the more I appreciate The Hellcats. Why? Basically, I'd rather watch a bunch of people getting wasted all day than watch a woman getting smacked around & have to sit through seemingly endless scenes of "sidehacking". I really dislike this one. And the riffing doesn't do it for me. But at least it gave us the great "Only Love Pads the Film" song! This last spot is interchangeable between the following: Beginning of the End, Attack of the Giant Leeches & The Gunslinger. I laugh once or twice max during each. I find all three of these episodes incredibly boring (and I've given them a few chances each). And I honestly don't think many of the riffs are going over my head, I just don't find the great majority of them funny. Godzilla vs the Sea Monster & The Killer Shrews are also tough sits for me. Although, the last 10-15 minutes of TKS is great! And here's where I'm going to surprise a lot of people. IMHO, Santa Claus Conquers the Martians & Mitchell are the two most wildly overrated episodes in the shows history. I've given them so many chances & they're just mediocre to me.

I know you're just kidding, but it gives me a good reason to quote this from the first post: 4) We all know that the worst MST episode is better than 99% of other television. Posting in this thread doesn't make you a bad fan.

Well, one big reason for me is that the riffs on RZC makes me chuckle, while the riffing on MAGG has me doubled over with laughter. Pretty straight forward, simple reason to like one more than the other.

I've seen roughly 60% of the episodes, but these are among my least favorite as of right now (and of course they could change - after all, The Screaming Skull was one of my least favorites until I watched it again and it was just too, too funny):
Angels Revenge: dull movie and lack of good riffs. Wild World of Batwoman: another dull movie. I don't know if I can get through this one again. riffs were weak as well. Gorgo: I've never even been able to get through this one. as usual, dull movie + weak riffs = NOT A CHANCE. Red Zone Cuba: another dull movie and aside from the obvious Curly jokes, not too many memorable riffs. Beginning of the End: zzzzz..... sorry, what? oh yeah, Peter Graves and... that's about it.

*Actually, this isn't my opinion at all. I couldn't stand Red Zone Cuba, myself. You know, even though it's been said by many to be a favorite. I don't really care for it myself. It's not in my bottom 5, but I'm not much of a fan of it.

That's interesting...because it's the exact opposite for me. But I'm sure you've seen MAGG many more times than I have. And I tend to let the movie get to me. So there's always the chance that I'll finally "get" the episode the 4th or 5th time around. It's happened before: I managed to enjoy Hamlet the last time I watched it & it actually took me around 10 viewings to really appreciate Pod People. Go figure!

As explained elsewhere I'm in the middle of watching every episode so this list will maybe change but right now the five worst have to be;
1) Castle of Fu Manchu This was just terrible. One of the worst movies ever used, coupled with a totally flat performance. Almost zero good jokes for the first hour and a quarter. The only good thing is the Mads bad riffing at the end. The show just seems to be completely lacklustre, they even say that they struggled to say funny things because the movie was so bad. Joel couldn't even be bothered doing an invention. It feels like they were done in after a long season and just had to churn this one out to make up the numbers. Just awful.
2) Hamlet Fair play to them on trying this, they clearly knew they were cancelled and decided to hell with it. Shame it's not funny.
3) Robot vs. the Aztec Mummy The name suggests the perfect MST3K movie. Sadly it's just too dull for them to do anything with. Made even worse by the fact that they tackled it so early and were just not ready for it.
4)The Mad Monster I can't remember this one much because I kept falling asleep. Like Fu Manchu I had to do this one in a number of sittings both times I saw it. I wasn't going to include Season 1 because like KTMA it's a bit unfair, but these two are simply awful! It's a surprise they survived two such bad episodes so early in its run. I actually quite like pretty much every other Season1 episode. It, like Josh Weinstein, is a bit underrated!
5)The Hellcats Like Fu Manchu it's phoned in. The flashback stuff was done better in the KTMA season and the riffing is, in the main, poor.
Obviously if KTMA were counted then K05-Gamera would be in there, probably at number three, because poor old Joel just can't do it alone, especially without a script, but I'd take pretty much any KTMA episode over the other four. K04-Gamera vs. Barugon was pretty stinky mind you. Actually I'd put that in at number five because of Josh's Kermit voice. At least they didn't keep Servo as Beeper!

From the ones I've seen, there's more than 5. In no order. They're all just too boring.
Hellcats
Sidehackers
RZC
Deadly Bees
Projected Man
Unearthly
Atomic Brain
Pod People

It is actually kind of weird that most say their bottom five, well they really do not laugh at all for the whole show. The 5 that I picked, well I laughed quite a bit, the shows just did not hit me that well. And Mr. Atari is right, I would watch any of my bottom 5 shows because it is SO much better than the crap on t.v. now. But it is just really weird that you can watch a mst3k show and only laugh one time.

My five, and the rationale:
Santa Claus: two hours of banging around a plastic piano singing ching-gang-gao lyrics in an attempt to "introduce" other cultures. Painful and potentially damaging, and then the movie just really does the same thing for as long as it does, the riff potential goes flat.
Castle of Fu Manchu I really wanted to like the episode, but the movie and the riffs bored me to tears. I watched it end-to-end, but it's sat on the shelf since.
The Hellcats after the other motorcycle-hoodlum movie episodes were all pretty good, this one is disapointing. Slow pacing, mediocre riffing. Watched once, back on the shelf.
. . .wild. . .Batwoman I didn't want to watch some hag prance around in her sleaze-bag costume, not to mention the movie was PITIFUL and other than crow's "HEY, HITLER, WE'D LIKE TO ORDER OVER HERE" there is not a good riff in the effort.
Bloodwaters. . .Dr. Z Horrible. Wicked. Remains the only MST3K episode I turned off in the middle of it.
