Loved season 12, more than happy to see that become the standard format.

I love this museum! They're the permanent home of this amazing Jim Henson exhibit that everyone should go see. I'll have to take another trip soon to see Tom and Crow!

I was wary of more bots at first, but Waverly and Growler are so pleasant I just immediately accepted them and - hell - just fill the SOL with new robots!

I did not even attempt to binge watch the thing. As a matter of fact, I'm halfway through and enjoying it so much I want to savor it, maybe only watch one episode a week to make it last! Of course, might put the remaining episodes on in the background to satisfy whatever wacky metrics Netflix uses to justify making more seasons of a show.

I like the idea of a female host.
Honestly, when Mary Jo does a guest bit on RiffTrax I can't help but think she would have made a great host.

The riffing was great, but I don't know if anything made me howl with laughter as much as things that were just from the actual film. I mean, it's a kids movie and I'm sure the filmmakers wanted the audience laughing, but my laughs were directed at Mac and Me's big, bold attempts at humor and heart that were so aggressively strange and disturbing I'm at a loss to explain how they were filmed.
Who, who thought these ideas were good? I mean, obviously this movie had a lot more money behind it that the usual MST3K movie, and a lot of movies on the show are really just bad because there was little time and money. Mac and Me wasn't an extraordinary expensive movie, but it's obvious they had some goodly amount of time and money and yet these are the ideas they went with. They chose to go with that design for the alien, they chose for the weird effect of the aliens getting sucked up by vacuums, they chose for the ending where are wheelchair-bound child protagonist gets gunned down by state troopers, they decided to put these in the film thinking that they would appeal to children. Mystifying.

Man, I'm laughing like every time they impersonate Graham Greene's halting, shouty performance.

The spez dispenser may be the most disturbing invention exchange ever? Just seen the slabs of spam popping out of Servo and Crow?

Great marathon! Appreciated Cry Wilderness as the representative of the new series.
The thing about the Turkey Day Marathon is that it's easy to just have it on in the background while you're doing stuff on Thanksgiving Day. I'm going to have to make an effort actually watch an episode or two of the new series when it goes live, you know?

I hope this means other old Universal horror and sci-fi are in the works at Shout. Tarantula, The Incredible Shrinking Man, and some of the old Karloff/Lugosi films not featuring one of the classic Universal monsters would be very much appreciated.

You can be disappointed in Joel all you want, but it's misguided. He said the version backed by fans would be free. And it was. This season is NOT backed by the fans, so you can't hold him to that statement anymore It's a bit of a bummer, but network interference of some kind is to be expected. Classic MST3K benefitted from several years of Comedy Central just letting them do their thing (as it was their small-potatoes network's notable show) and a few years of Sci-Fi letting them do their own thing (since the network's pervious regime had already greenllit two more seasons which they let run out). These were both happenstance, and in no way reflect how you can usually expect to make a show.

Deep down I really miss the closing credit riffs. I'm sure they were a pain, but they got really creative during some of them. TUSK! Yeah, I love the closing credits as much as the people who create MST3K hate doing them!

Is there a signifigant improvement in quality for films like Frankenstein (1931) on Blu Ray? Hell yeah. As far as I'm concerned a high contrast black and white film is what Blu-Ray was made for. You can also closely inspect Jack Pierce's makeup work and marvel at how good it still is!

I'm very pumped for Ator most of all.
I'd also like to chime in that Atlantic Rim is indeed a straightforward bargain basement ripoff and not a spoof or intentionally bad type of film.
Gotta say; I like the balance of films here. We have three films of the ilk that would've always been on MST3K, one well known 'cult classic' bad movie, and one newer Asylum film. It's reaching out to be a bit more accessible but still keeping one foot firmly in what they've always done well.
