Hey guys, I thought it might be nice to update this thread with the results of my quest... As you can see, everything worked out splendidly! I went with frankenforcer's suggestion and contacted Gerrit Rogers. Gerrit is a super nice guy and as you can see, his work with Crow was fantastic. Art now resides comfortably next to Tom near my office desk. :)

I'm watching The Brain That Wouldn't Die and when the doctor is trying to talk the model into trying plastic surgery again, he says nothing's impossible today, to which Mike says "not with radar!" Never noticed this before, but it's a cool example of a pre-riff, or whatever we call 'em.

I suppose I'll just keep checking eBay for now. Or hopefully Joe checks his e-mail.

First off, apologies if this subject is taboo; I searched the Rules and ToS Board and didn't see anything forbidding it. So no worries if it needs to be moved, deleted, etc.
I have a fully working Servo and I want to complete the pair, so I've been looking to purchase an already-assembled Crow 'bot for a few years now. I'm starting to worry that the more time that passes, the less likely I'll be able to find one. I e-mailed "joecrow" at joecrow.com but I guess the site is defunct because he never responded. I also would really like to find one with the more yellow-ish paint rather than the goldish hue that he seemed to take on during the Sci-Fi channel years (I love Mike and the Sci-Fi years but I grew up watching the show on CC).
My Servo is constructed from molded parts rather than the real traditional pieces (barrel bank, etc.), so I don't mind if Crow is the same way. As long as he looks and feels like the Crow from the CC years.
I know this is a long shot but I remember seeing some Crows on eBay many years ago, and the fact that Servo is still on there gives me some hope.
So does anyone have any suggestions? Or does anyone know if joecrow is still doing this? I'm willing to pay a very reasonable price!
Thanks for the help guys.

What is this "Joel And Trace Visit M.I.T." thing? Have we seen this before?
Also, posters? Awesome.

Has my dance belt shifted? Wow, thank you! I have wondered about this for literally years, haha.

In "Out of This World," the short before 618 High School Big Shot, there's a phrase that Crow says that I've never understood. It's at the very beginning when the angel and demon (lol?) are still talking about the bet while they're in their offices or wherever. After the demon suggests that they get a magazine writer to follow the bread guy and make fun of his job, the angel says "But, ah... how could we up here fix it so that a magazine writer down there...?" (while she swings her chain sensually, to which Servo adds music). Immediately after that line, the shot changes to the demon and Crow says something that is, to me, unintelligible. It sounds like "That's my dad's built shoe didn't," but that makes no sense.
Can anyone help?

(One tiny little negative: I'm kinda going WTF at Joel's response to Oriana's question - I don't know why he's coming down on her for asking a simple question that 99.9% of the fans have also been wondering about. Or maybe I'm looking too much into it. But he coulda just answered RepSam's question and left her out of it. I dunno, that just bugged me, sorry. ) It was just because of the phrasing. It doesn't sound like she's asking for the premise, it sounds like she's saying "so could we have an actual PREMISE please?" I doubt that's what she meant, but that's how it read to me (and to Joel, too, since he pointed out that he liked RepSam's phrasing better). Oriana's was just phrased a little aggressively.

I really have no idea what he means by that. I take it as he approached Mallon about reviving MST3K (he had everyone on board that needed to be), and due to some reason unknown to us Mallon wasn't open to it. Or he was, but Joel wasn't willing to accept Mallon's terms. Who knows. I just hope that now that mst3k.com's cartoon deal didn't work out (not that I wanted it to do badly), Jim will reconsider whatever it was that sent Joel away.

From that Quickstop interview (May, '07):
Interesting.
They go on to ask him questions about Rifftrax, but it's obvious that he doesn't want to talk about it. He says he "doesn't know anything about it" or something like that and when the interviewer explains, he doesn't seem interested in talking about it.

Slashdot regularly does these interviews and they don't make a big fuss about it. Unless you catch it on the day that they announce it, you have to know where to look on the site to even be able to tell that they're taking questions for an interview.
And WOW at Joel's comments about why he left the show. Wow.

Ninjew's post is good.
Three out of four of his points involve using the MST name to make money off of MST. Because MST fans like MST. It just makes sense. The two latter points involve showing movies that Jim probably no longer has the rights to, nor the money to buy back those rights, but the point is still there - we've been buying merchandise from Best Brains this whole time because we love Mystery Science Theater. Not because we love Jim and Paul. Yes, those guys are part of the show, and yes, Jim owns the name, but he's NOT Mystery Science Theater. Jim's already working uphill here since he's basically going it on his own, so not only would the cartoons have to be funny, which they are, they have to be REALLY funny just to get over the fact that there's no movies, no theater, and no Mike, Bill, and Kevin.
You can't strip a show down to two of its writers and remove its basic premise and try to make it work. You can't do that with any show, let alone one like MST3K, with its deeply devoted fanbase.
Like someone said before, use the website to sell us stuff! Sci-Fi era bloopers, new merchandise, things like that! And the cartoon can be a side thing.
Every time I read the phrase "the 'bots are back!" it makes me cringe. Which is sad, because I love the 'bots.

What an odd website. I'm not annoyed by him. Just... disappointed.
