When the Brains picked and filmed Final Justice, did they know at the time that they were in their last season? Would've been a funny gag for Mike's run to end the same way Joel's did (of course they joke about it at the end of the episode.) Also would've been poetic, being the "final" movie "sacrificed" at the altar of MST3K. Okay, maybe that last part's a bit too cheesy. But I just wondered if they didn't know at the time, or if they did and they had some other reason for Diabolik to be the last movie.
*Sorry if this has been asked before, but I couldn't find a thread for it.

Does anyone have a good DVD recorder they can recommend? Basically, I'm looking for a VHS/DVD combo, so it'll be easier to transfer my VHS tapes to DVD. But I also want to be able to record straight to DVD. My cable requires a digital cable box, so if push comes to shove I don't think I have to have a tuner in the recorder itself (correct me if I'm wrong here.) I probably want 1080p upconvert too, since that doesn't seem to cause much of a price jump. I thought I had found one I liked, but then a customer review said it has "security features" that prevents you from recording TV. The review doesn't go into detail so I don't know if there are actual lock-out features for copyrighted shows, or if this person was thrown by the lack of tuner.
I have next to no knowledge about DVD recording (other than what you do on the PC) so any tips or advice are welcome.

Thanks, sounds like something they could/should do if they ever release that episode.

I have no experience putting DVDs together so this might be a stupid question. If they released Night of the Blood Beast, how possible would it be to include both versions of the episode? Since the movie segments are unchanged, would it be possible at the menu to pick regular or Turkey Day, and have the DVD jump to the right host segments during the episode? Or would they have to just include one set of hosts as a bonus?

Isn't Satellite News attending? Maybe they'll post as soon as they hear something. For some reason I thought the panel was last night, I was checking here and SN all evening for updates.

Just pre-ordered my set. I wanted to get the price locked in tonight on the chance that the episode announcement causes the price to go closer to the list price.

Now I'm curious as to what strange outfits they may come up with in response to that. Black and white jumpsuits? With bow-ties?

So Shout Factory is supposed to announce the episodes at Comic Con, but does anyone know which day? I would think at the 20th Anniversary Panel but does anyone know that for sure?

Amazon waits until an item ships before charging, right?

Apparently these have been out a couple of years but I just found them and wondered if anyone else has checked them out. They're only $20. Each set has a theme (the three I got are Warriors, Nightmare Worlds, and Sci-Fi Classics) and while I haven't gotten a chance to watch any yet I'm sure it's a no-frills, no-bonus type deal. There are several MST3K movies (and Wasp Woman and Doomsday Machine) between the three I got, and judging by the titles the others are probably around the same cheese factor. The negatives (without actually watching the movies yet) are movies that are on more than one set, and the discs themselves are in cardboard sleeves (but lodged in the larger case in a way to keep them from sliding around), but at $20 you probably expect that. I just thought I'd give a heads up to anybody like me who likes these kinds of movies, even without a guy and two robots making jokes. The sets are listed at Amazon with the movie lists if anyone's interested. When I get a chance to watch something I might post an update on how they look.

PTI3K Joel/Mike and the Bots watch the movie as normal, but during the mid-movie host segments and at the end, they throw it to Tony Kornheiser and Mike Wilbon in the Pardon the Interruption studio to break down what's happened so far.
