In anticipation of the gizmoplex, I wonder if anyone here would be interested in doing a group episode viewing online.

I don't have a problem with them experimenting with different kinds of movies and host segments. MST3K has always tried to do new things. Sometimes they work sometime they don't. One persons worst episode is another's favorite. I imagine the show would not have the diverse fan base it does without the variety. Plus having an environment where trying new ideas is encouraged allows for more creativity from the cast and writers.

Overselling can turn people off. When my wife and I went to the last tour we were put off by how hard they pushed the merchandise. Specifically the break for intermission which seemed only there to push sales with a huge interruption right in the middle if the show. Lets hope that when watching something in the gizmoplex we won't be bombarded with ads for new merch or the new tour.

The major benefit of a recurring revenue business model is keeping existing subscribers. Consistently having new episodes without interruptions for more fundraising will be a big plus.

I know this won't happen, but it's still fun to think about.
They have a perfect opportunity for an old movie in the 4:3 aspect ratio. They are already going with several casts, and it looks like the two primary casts will have their own theaters. For the Joel episode they could have the original SOL with the 4:3 theater. An alternate universe SOL that Joel never escaped from somehow pops into the current MST3K timeline. Fun ensues.

Teleparty (formally Netflix party) is a chrome extension that can be used on many streaming sites for group viewing. Potentially even the gizmoplex.

How will the gizmoplex generate enough to fund future seasons when the first year 99% of the subscribers will be prepaid from the kickstarter.

They do say "Each month, you'll get on-demand access to a new selection of episodes"
So there will be some available.

From the Den of Geeks interview; "Joel: Well, the idea of the Gizmoplex is a premiere theater. The Mads have built a Cineplex on the moon, and they’re prepping the make it a tourist attraction and screening movies there. And on the practical level, the way you access it is you can watch it on a lot of your different devices and on smart TVs and stuff like that. And there’s also a few features, like you can watch it with friends and chat. If you happen to buy episodes or bought episodes through the last Kickstarter, you can watch those there, too, kind of like your own locker or library with your shows in it."
From Update #2; "4. What if I can't be online for a live event? Can I still see it?
Oh yeah, of course. After each new episode has its "live premiere," both the episode and a recording of the full live premiere event will be available to watch "on demand" in The Gizmoplex until the next premiere event."
Don't know about "other" content, but are we sure that there will even be a back catalog of episodes other than purchased ones?

The Cinematic Titanic shows would be nice. Are they streaming anywhere now?

Have they stated that all MST3K episodes will be available for streaming?

Just want to say that I have enjoyed every variation of MST3K, and I am happy to see that they want to make more. I will happily enjoy them.
My main concern with the gizmoplex is not that it won't work, it's that 10 months in the money runs out and there are not enough subscribers to cover the costs to keep it going (assuming they make it to the 12 episodes). What happens then. Many businesses fail because of poor planning. What if the costs are 10% or even 25% more than anticipated? Has this been planned for. Any venture like this will have unexpected costs. Just look at the first campaign.
